Will Fox, CNN, NBC and ABC ever admit that the memos are authentic?
Or is this silly forgery oneupmanship going to continue until election day?

What do you think?

4. Will they admit it? No, look at who the runs or owns them.
Will it continue, oh yes. Until hell freezes over, they've got too much to lose to admit the sock puppet pResident is a liar, corrupt, and a coward.

5. Their job is to maintain a shred of doubt
They care not if they have to lie to do so.
They will never admit to authenticity!
They will continue to maintain that there are "some experts" who are not convinced the documents are authentic and that is all the ditto heads and busthites will need to continue their denial of truth.

7. It may not matter at all...
Just having the controversy in the media, so long as people defend these documents - the SBVT damage will be balanced. See new ad here:

# Detroit, MI. 30 soldiers from Michigan have lost their lives in Iraq.
# Portland, OR. 22 soldiers from Oregon have lost their lives in Iraq.

very specific market targeted here. Well planned. Someone knows what they are doing.

10. I have a suspicion that
CBS will let them stew in their own juices for a while then hit them with more documents. I think CBS is giving Bush a chance to come clean about it. If not..........whammo!

11. oh yeah..
I agree..I think CBS is all torqued off and ready to drag it out after their comment tonight about "we will continue to report on this matter...LOL...
.... REMEMBER how when Sandy Berger was cleared? It was so buried in the paper. After everyone on FOX and MSNBC made nightly fun of the guy, no one spent any appreciable time talking about his innocence....but oh they had a fun repeating the lie that he stuffed documents in his underwear...

13. Everytime someone questions or attacks CBS, I just think of
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 06:08 PM by ET Awful
how well they handled the stories about big Tobacco. Remember that CBS Corporate and CBS News are two different entities (CBS News is a wholly owned subsidiary, but does operate independently). They fight over many things, but the legal division of CBS Corporate does have the ability to stop CBS News from running anything. They are extremely zealous in the way the protect CBS from liability and presenting false information (which, if you remember the whole back story when they outed the tobacco companies for KNOWING the addictiveness of nicotine, etc. it took two tries for the story to actually make it to air).

CBS Corporate is very anal about what they allow to run, and they go through everything with a fine tooth comb if they know it's highly controversial.

It's also worth noting (for those still talking about the Reagans movie, etc.) that CBS News has nothing to do with those decisions, which are also handled by CBS Corporate. The way I see it, those decisions have no bearing whatsoever on the way CBS News should be judged.

17. Thanks for reminding me about that.
It might be worth renting 'The Insider' again.

Unless things have sesriously fallen apart over the last few years, CBS is cautious to a fault.

They had "experts" on who very clearly said they appeared to be fake.

18. Their job is to keep the 'doubt' alive so as to keep the faithful
faithful to Bush. They won't have experts examine the docs because they know they don't have originals. They just want to plant that it's "probably" not true in people's minds. That not only keeps them from believing anything in these documents, it keeps them thinking everything bad said about Bush is a lie and he was real honorable in the Guard and it keeps them thinking Kerry is some bastard with something to hide and is attacking the poor president. They want this pounded all the way to the election. And when anyone brings the stuff up they do the Wolfe look and say "but some suggest the documents are forgeries"............either prove it fuckheads, or get off the pot. Nazis

20. No, they won't admit it.
The corporate media is the enemy.
It is their job to prop up the chimp.

They will lie, out CIA agents, not cover millions of anti-Bush, anti-war protestors, tell the opposition to SHUT UP, run Paula von Zhan's "Flyboy" piece 100 times, and so on.

In fact, when a small sliver of negative information about the chimp gets out (like the CBS Bush AWOL stories) the corporate media attacks the outlet that put out the information.

The media is really, really fucked up, like that rabid dog Cujo, and the democrats are like the lady Cujo has trapped in her car.

22. more silly oneupmanship the better
This is a jab, if it is still worrying on election day then all the better. What the Kerry team needs now is follow up, attack the war on Iraq, attack Bush's patriotism. Run adds promoting enlistment, sponsored by the Democratic Party - with old soldiers standing up and saying "There is no greater service you can offer, than to serve your country".
