Bill Richardson would be a great UN ambassador.
(accidentally posted this earlier in the wrong forum)

He is very highly qualified, even tempered, and well respected. His appointment would be a plus for those who want to see a Hispanic in the cabinet.

Since it looks like Hillary will be SoS, and it's widely reported that Richardson has been vetted, I'm hoping Obama offers him the post.

Here's more.

Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to him doing it again.

3. Yes indeed.
I don't think he was vetted for nothing though. I'd like to think not, anyway. Since it wasn't for SoS, unless he was the back up, which doesn't sound quite right, I was hoping he would be in for the UN. He sure could hit the ground running!

2. He was. One of the best. He could handle something bigger, with that experience...
...already under his belt.

helpfully,
Bright

5. Bill Richardson is the most qualified for Secretary of State
Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New Mexico's 3rd district -- January 3, 1983 to February 13, 1997
21st United States Ambassador to the United Nations -- January 21, 1997 to August 18, 1998
9th United States Secretary of Energy -- August 18, 1998 to January 20, 2001
30th Governor of New Mexico -- January 1, 2003 to Present

Legislator, Ambassador, Energy Secretary, and Governor ... nobody has better credentials!

Let Hillary be Ambassador to the U.N.

6. That would have been my preference too.
I don't have any inside info, but it looks like Hillary is in for SoS, and I'd really like to see Richardson be given a cabinet post.
