Can we stop arguing about cabinet appointees?
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 11:07 PM by liberalpragmatist
Nobody knows who Obama is going to pick. In fact, I doubt even Obama knows who he's going to pick.

There are lots of good, qualified people for all the major (and minor) positions. All have them have their plusses and minuses, and I doubt you're going to be thrilled with every one of them.

But any cabinet announcement is at least a week off. Most will wait nearly another month. At this point, I'm not getting into any more pissing matches over whether Kerry or Richardson will be Secretary of State, esp. when there are pretty good odds that it won't be either of them. Consider that the vast majority of cabinet members will be people none of us have ever heard of, and though the perennial parlor game revolves around elected officials, most cabinet secretaries come from the ranks of the bureaucracy, academia, or business -- few people will have heard of most of them.

Let Obama pick his team. I trust his judgment and we can debate their merits when he proposes them.

4. I'm just gonna let him do his thing for now.
He's proven to me he has way better judgment than I do. If he had taken my advice during the campaign, who the hell knows where we'd be? Do yo' thang, Barack!

5. Can we talk about cabinets we like? A nice Hepplewhite cabinet would be my favorite.
You know, in a cherrywood or mahogany.

What would you like to see with it?

15. nope, no can do.
in a representative democracy, it is OUR DUTY to keep pushing and questioning politicians. I harbor no false illusions that Obama is progressive, at least he won't be unless we hold his feet to the fire and demand that kind of leadership.
