Frightening thing happened to me today....................
As I was driving to a hair appointment (with Obama stickers on all sides of my car), a man tried to run me off the road, laid on his horn, came close to my back bumper as if he was going to hit me, then gunned his car going around me on a narrow residential street, giving me the finger as he went by. Now, I have never encountered behavior like this before. Am I wrong to think that he did this out of anger that Obama won and I was a convenient target to take his anger out on??

1. Similar events have happened to me ever since I put Obama stickers on my car last year.
I've also had my car keyed - and several stickers marked on or stolen.

3. both
there are plenty of narrow-minded racists out there. and until proven otherwise, that's what I call people who would have that sort of reaction.

4. That seems like the most likely explanation.
Too bad that you didn't get his license number.

6. I'd say you are probably 100% correct
I've felt for a while now that people are especially trying to drive right on my tail because of my Obama stickers, and a couple of scary guys did that and glared at me as they exited I-35.

I don't know where you are, but I'm in Texas, and this behavior doesn't surprise me one bit.

8. I guess we are all honorary black people now in the eyes of racists...
I don't have a problem with that at all. Stupid is as stupid does, and these asshole racists are going to get themselves into a lot of trouble... soon, I hope.

Stay safe everyone!

10. Depends on how you were driving.
I mean, that's how people react if you cut them off or drive like an ass sometimes. If you weren't doing anything like that, it might have been the sticker.

I get in trouble in cases like that. I follow the person, pull out my cell phone, and take a pic of their license. Usually when I do that, they start trying to get away instead of trying to intimidate me. This is a stupid response, by the way, because one day they won't try to get away and I'm going to get my ass kicked, so I don't recommend it. It's just a failing of mine. :)

15. No, I didn't cut him off or anything..........
I was going the speed limit and I moved over to the right as far as I could go (due to cars parked along the side), but at first, he didn't seem to just want to get around me. He just pulled close to my bumper. I tried to get the license number, but he was too far up on my bumper to see it through the rear view mirrow. And when he went around me, he was so close that I thought I was going to get hit. I live in the the "very red" part of Virginia!

11. No you're not wrong but you have to admit there are other equally plausible explanations.
The guy could just be a nutty driver who is late for a meeting and thinks everyone else is driving too slow. I've seen several of these aggressive type drivers.

12. Hell yes he did it because of your Obama stickers and the fact that they lost! These
people are nutty and dangerous - someone in NC reported the same thing in the last day or two, someone in CO talked about broken truck windows... and they had the gall to call US sore losers in 2000?

14. They are poor winners & even more poor losers.
It doesn't help that Palin fanned the flames of their hate & McCain condoned it with his silence. I suspect we are going to see a backlash from these people. I only hope it doesn't get violent.

19. In 2004, a policeman followed me for about 5 miles
right up to the driveway of my house. And I'm sure it was because of my Kerry/Edwards sticker. I live in a very red county in North Georgia.

18. Most likely the Obama stickers. sorry this happened to you. McCain/Palin are partially responsible

Despite McCain's gracious concession speech, the rest of his campaign was ugly and appealed to the worst of the worst.
