The Republican is outwardly confident, but there's urgency in his voice as he tours North Georgia, trying to boost turnout in his predominately white base: "The other folks are voting," he bluntly tells supporters.

8. I live in N. Ga. and I'm not so sure the Pubs here are voting against

a black man as much as they're voting against a DAMN DEM! We've lived here 8 years, and I've never been around so many people who flat out swear their total allegiance to the Pub Party, but they can never tell you why! It's not only here in N. Ga. either. My son works in Atlanta and lives south of Atlanta, and he said the same thing! Last Sun. he was talking to me on his cell as he drove into his driveway. Suddenly he said "OH DAMN! My neighbor, the one I spent the last 1 1/2 years talking to about how Shrub has dstroyed the couuntry just put up a McNuts/Palin sign in his yard!" They hated Clinton, Gore, Kerry, & now Obama!

Honestly, when I ask any of them WHY they continue to support the Pubs, I get one of two responses: Because I've ALWAYS BEEN A PUB! or I don't know, I just do!"
