Countering the meme that the MSM wants a horse race for ratings...
They could say "you must turn in to witness history" and "we've never ever seen anything like this!!"

"We're series!1!!1!!"

"Once in a lifetime seismic event in the land."

"Must see TV!"

I'd tune in to watch that.

Wouldn't you?

3. Well who wouldn't want to watch history unfold?
I feel like we're on the cusp of something really special.

Maybe I'm just a tool caught up in the hype.

But it feels different.

These crowds from coast to coast (heck, even round the globe) seem to be yearning for real, substantive, change.

Not just a slogan, but something tangible and real.

5. I'll be watching, you betcha!
:hi: And if it unfolds our way, yes, it will be historic. I guess either way it will be. I just remember 4 years ago, and the disappointment. I'll be holding my breath through a big part of Tuesday night, praying for a rout.

4. Come on, they know viewers could watch "history unfold" on ANY channel...
...but only on THEIR channel can you see BREAKING, SHOCKING NEW DEVELOPMENTS THAT MAY SWING THE ELECTION AROUND!

6. I think a lot of them will vote McCain, to save on their +$250K salary taxes.
With a few exceptions, like KO, they're likely overpaid Repubs.

7. What what what?
I'm forever told about the liberal media bias.

Surely someone has been fibbing.

9. They don't just want it for ratings, by keeping the race close, they spur
donors to send in more cash to pay for more commercials.

11. oooh, that's a new one!
Tight race = more ad $$$.

Not ratings, but more ad buys.

I like it.

10. For the owners of MSM, propaganda value trumps ratings $ value.
Sure, they like it if they make money from their propaganda tools, but if it comes to choosing between making (more) money from their media tool or using the tool to catapult the propaganda to enable them to steal even more elsewhere, propaganda value wins hands down. Who cares about a potential $1B profit from a media empire when you can use that media empire to enable you to steal hundreds of $Bs of taxpayers' money?

and that's why they hate the Internet.

It allows the American People to talk in mass, through or around their one way corporate media filter thereby exposing much of their propaganda for what it is.

I believe this is also why they slandered and libeled Al Gore for the better part of two years prior to the selection of 2000, instead of giving him credit for his vision and dedication to the people.

Also as the Internet, more than anything since the First Amendment was first established has enabled the people's voice to grow in power and influence, this has given Obama not only a fighting chance in this election but in some ways an advantage, as the people's voice is more accurately heard over the corporate voice.
