Even most racist people I know are voting for Obama
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 08:07 AM by LostinVA
This includes someone in NC whose grandfather was IN THE KLAN until his minister told him he couldn't be a Deacon until he quit. I swear to God this isn't a bouncy story. I was floored when I heard that.

This friend's parents -- also in NC -- are hugely racist (ie use the "n-word" in casual conversation), and they are voting for Obama.

My aunt-in-law is also voting for him. She wasn't, until Palin joined the GOP ticket. She's a HUGE animal lover, and the wolf thing did it for her. She's also racist.

Now, my stepfather-in-law ISN'T racist or homophobic, but he's voting for McPalin. Go figure.

1. I have the same exerience. I have many relatives from the south who hate the Republicans more than
they do black folk. Very pro union. For them, it's bread and butter.

9. The friend's father I referenced above hates Palin
He thinks she's woefully inexperienced, dangerous, and UNAMERICAN. He would have voted for McCain and, say, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, but not McPalin.

5. I've been telling people for months that there are racists who will
vote for Obama, and they look at me like I'm nuts. People are hurting.

7. My Dad and Step-Dad are both voting for Obama
and I would consider them to have racist tendencies. My best friend's Dad is also voting for Obama despite the fact that he is a racist. They are all impressed with Obama after really listening to his message. I have been talking to them for months now and sending emails like crazy!! They all really say nice things about him now and I am thankful.

8. Even hard-core racists will admit there are "good ones"
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 08:25 AM by jberryhill
Sad but true.

I have no doubt there are otherwise confirmed racists who would say That One is one of the "good ones".
