About three weeks ago my elder sister received her voting materials, ballot et al, in the mail. Because I live nearby I expected my voting package within the same time frame. Two days passed so I decided to check my registration status at the Secretary of State's office online. It indicated 'inactive.' I then sent an email to our County Election Office. They responded very promptly but told me that my voting materials had been returned 'undeliverable.' They emailed back that I had either moved or the materials were forwarded to another address. I emailed back; how could this have been forwarded to another address if you said the materials had been returned undeliverable? They did repost the ballots, promptly. I re-checked the Secretary of State's registration data online and it did in fact correct me to 'active' status. I guess one would have to blame the United States Postal Service for this SNAFU.
Today I hand delivered my paper ballot, and others, to our County Election Office drop-box. Chalk up ten more votes for President Obama.
Yesterday I saw a post here whereby the person indicated that they were 42 years old and stated that Obama's campaign was the most efficient they've witnessed in their lifetime. Well youngster, I've been of voting age for over fifty years...most efficient campaign in my lifetime.
I'm an old veteran, about McCain's age, we old duffers tend to have lapses of memory. Not Commander in Chief material.
