TPM Daily Poll Tracker: Obama 49.7, McCain 44.7
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/

It's down about a point and a half from yesterday. Still waiting on Gallup and ABC/Washington Post polls to report.

1. What's wrong with a 5 point lead?
Clinton beat Bush with a 5 point lead--and with Perot stealing votes away.

Honestly, all of you are jumping at your own shadows these days.

2. I don't like him falling below 50%. Luckily, though, people are already voting.
I think his numbers will improve after tonight's ad, anyway.

6. 49.7 isn't really "below" 50...
Don't worry. I'm worried, but you guys don't worry.

10. People need to pay attention to swing state polls,
Who gives a fuck if McCain is up by 25 points in Alabama.

12. I'm with you...
I ALWAYS worry. (But then I look at state polls and I stop worrying. But then I look at these national polls and I worry AGAIN.) I guess I'm bi-polar. :)

15. McCain could be adding to his lead in the south
Obama's leads in NY and California could be shrinking.

19. McLame is solidifying his base if the battlegrounds aren't moving.
And they are not.

5. Because they just dropped the Pew Poll that had a 12 % lead for Obama.
(a not very likely poll)

BTW, it is now 49.8 44.6.

20. That leaves 5.6 unaccounted
Figure 2% will go to Barr/Nader/McKinney/et. al.

That leaves 3.6% -- even if they all broke for McSame, he's likely lose.

That said, we need to get back on offense. However much we might not like to hear it, McSame's latest ads are more effective than the dreck he was spewing.
