As we approach the 2008 presidential election, our economy is in shambles and we have spent more than half a trillion dollars on a military conflict that was launched based on misguided assumptions, terrible post-war planning and an abject failure of intelligence.
There is more, of course. There is the argument that pre-emptive war is good foreign policy, that the Patriot Act is good for our freedom, and that deregulating the markets will allow the invisible hand of capitalism to make us all better off.
We believe Barack Obama is the right man to change our nation’s direction.
