Oh, how I just love the ghost of the Pyhrric victory...

There is a chance that the media will have to cover Kitty Kelley's tales about Bush drug use, abortions and other things because of the coverage the Swiftboat people got. Democratic insiders should be reminding all the media outlets about how many lies and fabrications were behind the Swiftboat claims, that they must give equal time to Kitty Kelley's book....

This on top of Sen Bob Graham's book...

So maybe the Swiftboat people will actually turn out to be an asset...

9. Vanity Fair Article...

Vanity Fair did an article on her about a year ago. I still have it, but haven't read it yet - though mean to. In it though, she says Neil Bush gave her herpes and left her high and dry while doing all of his bachelor type things.

But what is really sick, is that the media interviewed this jerk at the Repuglican Convention with his kids next to him. Oddly, the boy looked, sounded and acted just like Dubya. He had that same smirk and shrugging laugh. No kidding. It gave me chills.

2. Kitty Kelly is one of Larry King's favorite guests. She's been on

his show many, many times. So this book should get a lot of TV time on King alone. And Kelly usually does Q&A when she's on his show. Could be fun to watch. :evilgrin:

Being the loyal person that I am, I took the DU oath to ban CNN from my life. :) BUT, I might watch when she goes on to plug this book. And I have no doubt that she will go on King, unless the WH grabs Larry by the suspenders and threatens to hang him if he puts her on the show.

3. I hope you're right, but I'm not as confident.

The smear-boaters are effective because more of them keep coming out of the woodwork to feed the story (almost as if planned!) and more importantly, their smear ads are repeated free of charge on RW radio ad nasuem.

Their relative small and localized media buy was amplified 100-fold and on a national basis because of the complicity of AM whack-job radio. It was because of this that Kerry responded, which gave the story enough legs for the cable shows to go with it on a daily basis. The whole story became self-perpetuating.

The Kelley story will get a few days if we're lucky and then die. The Hardball/Oreilly types will give it one day, chimpco will issue a statement saying the book is not worthy of comment, and that will be that.

That alone is more credible than a cartel of disgruntled vets who keep changing the name of their group. I have a feeling Hardball/Countdown will make an issue about this, considering a lot of the book's material came from Dubya's sister-in-law.

Your points, you stated are highly valid about the Dems sticking to key issues important to the Country. However, the public likes this tabolid trash gossip stuff, which to me is very sad.

It's like they self-medicated with junk like Kitty Kelley books. So give them one on Bush, to hell with it. Who are we to disipline the desires of the marketplace.

Further we are not going to say what is true and not true in the book. That is for the public to decide!

I presume you saw the full page ad for her book in the Republican National Convention Guide. H.W. Bush and Karl Rove went nuts when they found out! It was a beautiful sucker punch by some Democrat "friends".

This is the reason the GOP went nuts and rigged the 11 point Bush lead Poll, put out 5 different pure fraud articles on Kerry via various news organizations, and fired up the Willie Horton type Kerry ad coming out 9/7. I wrote about it several times per below attachment.

The Bush-GOP got blindsided by the full page ad for Kelley's book, in the Convention brochure, and it caused a major fuss at the Convention. We know for a fact that Papa H.W. Bush went ballistic!

That is why the GOP-Bush-Texas Mafia machine is striking back so hard with all the new rigged polls, new smear ads, new moveon.org clone GOP 527 to run a new type of Willie Horton and the blacks smear against Kerry, exactly like Papa Bush did in 1988 against Michael Dukakis, blah, blah.

It’s an excellent tactic by the "Democratic friends” :

1..Sucker punch the Bush-GOP Mafia,
2..The public never hears the story,
3..The Bush Mafia goes nuts and does stupid stuff in public that offends Republican voters,
4..The Democratic candidate(s) and the DNC take the positive campaign “high road” in the media
5..Republican voters retaliate and vote for the Democratic candidate.

It a beautiful move, and I guess the Bush-GOP idiots didn’t learn their lesson in the ’92 Clinton-Papa Bush Prez election. Papa Bush though he was going to win that ’92 election, and even Clinton though he was going to lose the night before the election. Next day Clinton slams Bush 370/168 electoral votes and the rest is history.

What happened, a massive number of Republicans voted against Bush. This “closet Republican” base doesn’t show up in poll numbers. They vote Democrat and many times never tell anyone or admit it to a pollster.

We know for a fact you are going to see this same event happen again in November 2004. There is a huge Republican base that wants no more of Bush-Cheney, including many in their home State of Texas. They will vote very strong for Kerry-Edwards and never show up in the poll numbers.

We think right now that this Republican “disgusted with Bush-Cheney” base is 8 -12 points in the polls for Kerry-Edwards that is underpolling/unreported. That a big number! - NKR

I personally think that this book could have legs.

As a librarian I can tell you that Kitty Kelly's a popular author with a track record of getting real dirt on the rich and famous. People who wouldn't touch a more serious political book will read this one.

Democrats of course should stay the hell away from all of this. I hope Kelly's not an active Democrat by the way.
