McCain Camp: "It is a fact that Barack Obama was palling around with terrorists"

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/on_clearance_terrorists_pallin.php

In response to this morning's post about an anti-Palin faction developing with the McCain campaign and among Republicans, Randy Scheunemann, McCain's chief foreign policy adviser, e-mails:

Just read your post. This is on the record. This is cleared by HQ. It is a fact that Barack Obama was palling around with terrorists. It was a fact before Governor Palin said it in a fully vetted speech and it is fact today. It is bullshit to claim or write anything else.

1. You know what I don't understand? Polling shows that this is NOT working for them...
But they keep doing it? Why? It just defies logic. Their entire campaign does not use logic. They are off message half the time, and when they are on message it's the WRONG message. WTF?

3. It appears to me that they are only concerned about one thing, now.
Palin's base.

They gave up the middle, the indys and winning about a month ago. Now, they are just motivating Palin's base.

4. You can tell they are just dumbfounded that
the media hasn't turned the Ayers thing into Rev Wright Part II, running 3 hour specials nightly outlining what Ayers did and how Obama is 'connected' to him. Complete with scary teasers and mysterious open ended reporting.

They truly think it is not working in the polls because the media is not covering it enough, so they just bleat it louder and louder. Its incomprehensible to them that truly no one gives a shit outside of Free Republic.

5. "terrorists" plural
Besides Ayers, what other "terrorists" are they referring to?

6. Nearly every poll and interviewed person shows that the vast majority of the populace
couldn't care less about any 40 year old Ayers affiliation, yet the Republicans try to push it like it's some groundbreaking revelation.
