My 74-year old Dad, who does not use the internet
calls Chris Matthews 'Tweety'! He just hung up with me "Gotta go, Tweety's on!" He must've heard his kids and son-in-law use the term.

My dad hasn't been well this year, but he's a die-hard Democrat who wants to live to see an African-American president. I call him everyday to report what I pick up on the 'internets', and since he flips between CNN and MSNBC all day, he reports back to me on the biased, pro-McCain coverage. He says that the divisiveness that he's seeing from the McPalin campaign reminds him of Joe McCarthy, and the hatred from the followers reminds him of what he witnessed when he was stationed down South in the 1950s.

His favorite show is 'The View' (I kid you not) because he likes to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck get her comeuppance. :-)

Anyway, sorry to interrupt the latest Freeper-faking-an-injury scandal. I guess this is the Parlock of this election!

9. Yes I remember the Parlock family and I believe their name deserves
to become a meme for any type of faked/staged event.

Let's make it happen!

12. An event was staged=an event was 'parlocked'.

6. I was really lucky growing up.
I never had to rebel politically-my parents are very liberal.

5. Good on your dad
I don't watch the View unless I'm on when someone posts about it in GD but do a search in GD on a daily basis to see what went down.

I wish your dad good health and hope he sees Obama in the WH for 2 terms.

7. Spend as much time with dad as you can. I lost my 73 year old dad a month ago to cancer
he had it for at least 2 years undetected. My dad had the same sense of humor and I really miss him.

13. I'm sorry about your dad.

I've been spending a lot of time with my parents lately. I don't want to have regrets when they're gone like a lot of my friends.
