I just voted for the next President of the United States, Barack Obama.
No waiting but busy. Two nice young ladies working a Democratic Party table filled with Dem goodies and signs at the poll limits. Some candidate guy with no table I didn't talk to, but NO Repug. table or workers. The Dem workers said everybody today had been very nice.

This is in Dallas (and granted a pretty blue area). If Texas doesn't go Obama (and I think we may surprise the rest of the country) I think at least Dallas County will.

1. Dropped off my ballot at one of Seattle's sealed ballot boxes on Tuesday
So one more vote for President Obama (actually two because I dropped off my sister's ballot as well).

:patriot:

2. Likewise.
I heard lines were busy around the noon hour, but it was an easy in and out around 3:30 here in central Florida.

Let's hope our votes get counted this time!

3. Yeah, I voted on a touch screen. It seemed OK...
but you just don't know. I asked if they had a paper ballot option (knowing they didn't) and they said they had it on provisional ballots. Ugh.

6. You have my condolences. Fortunately, we had optical scan ballots.
A verifiable paper trail is the only fair and sensible way to go. Those GOP-owned touch screen machines can be thrown into the Gulf of Mexico as far as I am concerned! :argh:

4. Voted early in Austin, TX today
At the Randalls' grocery on 183 and Braker. Waited about 15-20 mins in line to vote, not too bad. Line looked a little longer when I left but not too bad.

I was asked to remove my Obama button. Now I had read somewhere that it was allowed to wear buttons, but I didn't raise a stink about it.

5. I just voted in West Virginia.
Paper optical scan ballot -- the officials at the county courthouse fed it into the scanner right in front of me, and then dropped the paper ballot into a lock box underneath the scanner. There was a five minute wait to get in and get to one of the 24 or so stands for filling out your ballot.

Considering that many of my coworkers were leaving early to watch WVU play Auburn on the tube this evening, I'd say it was a pretty good crowd.
