Michelle Obama v. Sarah Palin - The VP Candidate Is Politically Tone Deaf
Campbell Brown, and other members of the MSM, are covering up for Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree by arguing that women, unlike men, are judged on their appearance, thus it should be expected that the McCain/Palin campaign would invest in Palin's appearance. However, this still does not justify $150,000.00 for high end fashion.

Michelle Obama uses a stylist like Palin, as might be pointed out by Campbell Brown. HOWEVER, the stylist is told to pick clothes from middle class stores, rather than getting a free pass to Needless Mark-Up. What Campbell Brown misses is that there is no reason why you need to dress a female VP Candidate like a super model UNLESS you really are trying to push the sex appeal angle.

1. there is no excuse for it
"she were gonna donate that 20000 dollar Chanel dress to charity after the election"

love it.

I'll betcha doncha know that $150K would go a lot further in cash.

And, uh, which charity by the way? National Organization of Witch-Hunting Glossoliacs? Supreme Christianic Council of Anti-Gay Secessionists?

3. Silk Purses and Sow's Ears
Ofcourse there is the old adage you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Michelle Obama has class and looks classy even when dressed in clothes from Target. The pig with lipstick is just that. . . a tarted up pig.

5. RNC Sends Absolute Wrong Message In A Struggling Economy - You Must Consume and Shop!
McCain/Palin's big mistake is to talk "hockey mom," but dress her Palin like a runway model with designer clothes from variuous high end clothing stores. It just sends the wrong message that for a woman to be successful she must spend through the nose on her appearance. In comparison, Michelle's stylist relies on clothes from the stores that the middle class shops at, which demostrates that you can look good on a middle class budget.

Campbell Brown complains that men can just throw on a tie and suit, and they are good to go. Well, if this is a sexist stereotype, should Palin cater to it? The problem is that McCain/Palin embraced the sexism, and shopped for clothes designed to enhance her sex appeal. Palin could have gone for a more conservative, less cutting edge look with a stylist who had the same mission given to Michelle's stylist: Make her look good, but rely on clothes that the middle class can relate to.

Instead, McCain/Palin wanted to create this idolistic image of Palin, and now they justifiably are getting called on it.

4. haha
Heather Wilson is so ridiculous...she was just on with Norah, and asked her if it's ok for the RNC to buy clothes for Palin. Wilson said "I don't think it's appropriate to talk about someone's dressing habits this close to an election!" Norah said "So, you think it's appropriate then? You're sticking up for it?" Heather Wilson: "No! I mean...I don't approve of Y'ALL discussing this instead of Biden, blah blah blah". Norah said "Ok...thank you" Heather didn't respond and Norah did a quick forced smile...so awkward.
