228,000 sq feet is the size of a large retail building.

15. It's in a normal residential area of Mesa, Dobson Ranch
Whatever NextTag is doing, they're distorting this really bad.

"Huge multifamily" is wrong. It's ordinary homes right on Dobson Road south of Baseline.

It MIGHT be packaged as an apartment/rental/casita/condo type property, but it's not a lavish mansion by any means, and not likely one of Cindy's residences.

I'm not familiar enough with Mesa specifics to tell you more than that.

23. Hate to say it but you'd be surprised at how some people with BIG $$ do not look the part....
I've met one - an ex-pig/cow farmer turned used car salesman originally from Texas. Weather down home blue jeans and sports shirt type, drove a regular ole pick up truck, lives in an old farm house in need of renovation.

Can't judge people by the outside. Not saying this clown is or isn't someone with some $$ but just keep in mind that some ole boys are very low keyed.

26. They are probably modular homes set up on permanent footings
This is a common format in Arizona.

As I said, I'm not familiar with the Keating Avenue/Dobson Ranch entity, but there are several such developments out in the East Mesa, Apache Junction, and Gold Canyon area: double-wide manufactured homes installed on lots in a "park." Owner buys unit but pays lot rent just like a "trailer park," but these units are not in the least bit mobile. For example, Montesa in GC features stucco exteriors, tile roofs, very very nice place. Better than mine!

Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 06:30 PM by onenote
Not nearly so exciting sounding. SOmetimes it makes sense to look before you leap.
In fact, he may have not even owned there; may have rented, or had it rented for him (its used for corporate housing according to one website).

1960 Keating Avenue is a 576 unit building that was purchased for a whopping 30 million in 2005 ($53,000) per unit.

http://www.brewaz.com/story_recent.php?id=5029

Found a site where people reviewed the place. Apparently its a shithole.

I live about 3 blocks away (on Canton, if you look at the map). Sorry, but there is NO way it's worth that much. This entire Dobson Ranch neighborhood is made up of 180K - 500K houses. TOPS. So I don't know where those numbers come from. STRANGE though...

I know the area. THERE ARE NO MILLION DOLLAR HOMES THERE. There are middle class houses, some townhouse/condo developments, an apartment complex or two, and office complexes, mostly medical and legal, IIRC.

Joe may have lived at that address, but the online information as posted here is false.

47. I totally dig on that, except I don't think there's anything ironic about it at all.
Sorry about all the caps.

I absolutely suspect that there is a connection between this Sammy Joe Wurzlebacher and the Robert Wurzlebacher who pled guilty in the Keating scandal.

Keating is an old-boy Arizona name, and it would make sense that his associates might have bought property on land that he developed in the 70's and 80's. I was a kid growing up in Tempe when Mesa turned the cotton fields into man-made lakes and culdesacs.

I wonder if his Uncle Bob Wurzlebacher owned a condo complex that he built on land bought from Keating, or something like that. And Sammy Joe lived there.

I am still unclear of the relationship between Robert W. and Sammy Joe W. Has that been established yet? And I wonder how to research whether Keating owned/developed any land in the East Valley in the 70's and 80's.
