John McCain would ruin a mans life to win the Presidency
Yes, this in another "Joe the Plumber" post, but the angle that needs to be attacked is the "shameless exploitation" of "Joe".

Whether you think "Joe the Plumber" inserted himself into this campaign by trying to trip up Obama, it doesn't matter. Now that John McCain repeatedly used this man during the debate, he absolutely must be vetted.

That "vetting" brings up additional stinking points. Stand by for the caterwauling and gnashing of teeth from the "right-wing-noise-machine" when the evil, hated "liberal" media begin tearing this man apart.

At this point, the press has no choice but to "dig" into this man's background.

- Was he a plant?
- Is he telling the truth?
- What is his record of campaign contributions?
- What is his voting record?
- Is he a member of any "wingnut" blogs?
- Who is he related to?
- Does he have a business license?
- Has he paid his just and fair taxes?
- Does he have a criminal record?
- What about his associations and relatives?
- How much money does his "business" make?
- Is he lying about working 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week?
- Any divorce or domestic proceedings in his record?

These and other questions are now fair-game....all because of the blind ambition and shameless exploitation of a man that couldn't give a rats-ass about "Joe the Plumber".

McCain is a "user". That's a far drop for a man who is supposed to be "honorable".

1. Yup. McCain deliberately set Joe up for extensive scrutiny
and it sounds like this guy might be in trouble.

4. Of Course
one concern is that the "right-wing" can use the media vetting and eventual unraveling of this guys story to create another villain. When Joe "tanks", or is exposed, just wait for the Limpballs and Insanities of the world to further "demonize" the media for "smearing an average Joe just trying to get by".

Here's how I see this playing out.

Wingnuts: "All hail Joe the Plumber, an average Joe we can exploit"
Media: "Hey folks, Joe the Plumber is a fraud"
Wingnuts: "Look at that horrible despicable 'liberal' media out to destroy this average Joe"

Lather, Rinse, Repeat until November 4.

I think it's too little too late, but I do agree that we can't just leave this "Joe the Plumber" crap alone.

2. McCain would of course do this... but Ayers is a better example
Joe the Plumber is a drama queen who inserted himself into the national debate quite willingly. I'd say his own ego and ambition to "be somebody" equals McCains ambition to be POTUS.

3. The ISSUE isn't about the guy's personals
The issue is simply that someone making over $250k a year will pay slightly higher taxes than they have been under Bush.

THE GREATER POINT is that this only effects 5% of us.

The 'plumber' thing is deliberately deceptive. It makes the guy sound middle class, which he's not.
