**QUESTION** Was "Joe the Plummer" a set-up?
Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 11:08 AM by President Decider
The guy is getting a lot of media attention this morning as you would expect after mentioning his name 20+ times in a Presidential debate ...

But what appears to be happening is that the more "face time" he's getting in front of the camera and the more that is being uncovered about this guy and his political views, the more it appears that this guy was in implant .... a set-up for the GOP. They needed a "Joe 6 pack" to get their idealogical message out knowing McCain wasn't connecting with the masses.

We now know that this guy is origonally from red-state Louisiania (moved to Ohio a few years ago), grew up in a very Republican household, appears to have some tax issues, and doesn't possess a shread of Democratic valuses. Did this guy even have the means to buy a business? ... or was the whole story a hoax?

There's something about his shaved head look too that would lead one to beleive that he may have some "skin head" white supremist background. Who knows what they'll find out next as they continue to turn over some stones on the guy ????

Point is, do you think it's possible that this guy was a set-up?

he lives arround the corner from where Obama was. Now I hate the guy, but he wasn't a plant. Anyone of us would have done the same thing to mccrap had he been walking our streets. I put up a map on it in this thread;

30. is that proven?
so, the GOP has a database of relatives of big donors who'll act as sleeper agents, springing into action at campaign events at a moments notice with a script that includes flat-tax baiting of democrats?

no wonder they're winning! ;)

I don't think he was a plant, but I think it is obvious that he was talking out of his ass and just wanted to be able to scream - SOCIALISM!

6. maybe just a low info (i.e, Republican) voter
But it's telling that the media, in all their gushing over him today, fails to refer back to his news conference where he shows that he clearly has Republican views on other issues, or than he is supposedly a registered Republican.

7. No, Obama went into the neighborhood and "Joe" happened to live there.
They just did another segment on our noon local news. "Joe" was born here in Ohio, moved down south then moved back. His family is/was in the Military and he also served. That's where he learned his trade.

He also thinks McCain isn't conservative enough.

11. I'd love to know more about his relationship with the Keating family.
He comes off as a total jerk.. and isn't even registered to vote... and is rather ummm.. close to racist with his "tap dancing like Sammy Davis Jr." comment.

Not sure of the details, but as a relative of the Keatings... he was asked to be there.

Trust me, the McCranky camp does not have the mechanism to move that fast on their feet and make up this "joe the plumber" shit on the fly. I have no doubt now that it was predetermined, cuz the guy was a total jerk to Obama.. as though he planned to be. Most NORMAL humans are decent when someone like that comes to your neighborhood.. but he was not. And if he's some hotshot plumber, why was he HOME during the day? Why wasn't he working? And why did he even come out there to talk to Obama? When he made it clear that Obama had nothing to say to him that would change his mind.

He's a republican jerk who is related to Keating and it was a set up.

But the BEST thing is that the audience reaction to "joe the plumber" was increasingly negative, and McCain TANKED every time he brought it up. It was a DUMB publicity stunt.

Edited on Thu Oct-16-08 11:36 AM by Marrah_G
My guy is a big huge white guy with a shaved head. He is also a Liberal Pagan. not a racist.
My children's father is a big white guy with a shaved head. Independant- leans liberal, especially socially. not a racist.

Stereo-types suck.

There is enough on this asshole without labeling him as a white supremist unless you have knowledge that he is indeed one.

Just needed to get that off my chest.

YES YES YES- I think he was a Puke Party Plant. A lying Plant. A lying plant that MCCain knew about before bringing him up at the debate.

28. camera picks up Obama and Joe day before debate. McCain brings him up first.
Of Course he's a plant. Now we find out that he's not undecided and that he may have a Keating connection? I'm looking at reverberations of the Bush administration in which the inane just keeps pluggin' along. How did the GOP let Neo-nuts take over their party?

29. Very good point .... 1 day befofe debate this goes down then McCain couldn't wait to jump on it
I'm thinking "set-up" too ....

I want the media to expose it though ... It will have a devistating effect on McCain's campaign and put it in even more dire-straights than it is now.
