17. I'm not sure it was a gaffe, but if it was deliberate is was a remarkably
well-delivered fake gaffe, given McCain's abilities. I thought it was actually a pretty good line for mcCain - guaranteed to make his base happy - although he undercut it a bit later when he talked about the immense growth of government over the last 8 years (the attempt to pin it on the last 2 years of Dem leadership was ham-fisted)...
