Think like Churchill, not Chamberlain

I think the Time and Newsweek polls probably overstate Bush's bounce to some extent. The methodologies and timings seem suspect...I think Zogby and Rasmussen are closer to being right. Bush has a small lead, close to the margin of error.

But that is still a bad place for an incumbent to be.

Look, folks, even if Bush is ahead by 11 points, we need to stop thinking like Neville Chamberlain and start thinking like Winston Churchill. NEVER SURRENDER. Fight them in the cities and in the air and on the beaches. Make this the Democratic party's finest hour.

If we want John Kerry to be tough and aggressive, then we damn well better be tough and aggressive ourselves. This defeatism must stop, and stop now.
