OMG, I Just Voted For McCain...
See, what happened was, I got a call from a polling agency today and they asked who I was voting for: Obama or McCain. Of course, I said Obama.

And then I went to fill out my early vote. And no matter what I believed or did, the Bradley effect got me and made me vote against my own best interest and the best interest of my family. That little acorn sized part of my brain (according to CNN) that says I'm biologically racist will vote against my conscience mind and vote for the white guy.

:sarcasm:

Doesn't the media realize how absolutely absurd this sounds? They are basing their credibility on the discrepancies of polls vs. exit data from one election that occurred decades ago. What about the discrepancies between the exit polls and the results in 2000 and 2004? Where Gore and Kerry BLACK? I guess that shoots the Bradley effect all to hell!

2. CNN-International did a report on how this year might be the opposite effect
They pointed out that Obama did a lot better in many primary states than polling showed.

That is many small midwestern and southern towns where there is still overt racism, people who are voting for Obama won't say so openly, but will in the privacy of a voting booth.

It was a very interesting segment.
I'm assuming it made it to CNN in the USA

7. Rachel Maddow had a segment on this and I believe the guest said the same thing.
At the very least she said the the Bradley effect has never happened to Obama so far in his career.

11. It will be called the "Obama Effect" . I always
believed that to be the case in this election. The Bradley Effect will be known as the Palin Effect after November 4th.

8. That's what I say.
Hey Swampy... that pic makes me think this story about McCain and gambling:

McCain's game is craps. So is Jeff Dearth's. Jeff was at the table when McCain showed up and happily made room for him. Apparently there is some kind of rule or tradition in craps that everyone's hands are supposed to be above the table when the dice are about to be thrown. McCain--"very likely distracted by one of the many people who approached him that evening," Jeff says charitably--apparently was violating this rule. A small middle-aged woman at the table, apparently a "regular," reached out and pulled McCain's arm away. I'll let Jeff take over the story:

"McCain immediately turned to the woman and said between clenched teeth: 'DON'T TOUCH ME.' The woman started to explain...McCain interrupted her: 'DON'T TOUCH ME,' he repeated viciously. The woman again tried to explain. 'DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO?' McCain continued, his voice rising and his hands now raised in the 'bring it on' position. He was red-faced. By this time all the action at the table had stopped. I was completely shocked. McCain had totally lost it, and in the space of about ten seconds. 'Sir, you must be courteous to the other players at the table,' the pit boss said to McCain. "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? ASK ANYBODY AROUND HERE WHO I AM."

This being Puerto Rico, the pit boss might not have known McCain. But the senator continued in full fury--"DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"--and crisis was avoided only when Jeff offered to change places and stand between McCain and the woman who had touched his arm.

4. Seems those who don't like Obama are pretty proud about it
I get the impression they would relish telling the pollster they won't be voting for the black muslim.

6. LOL. It's like if you are white, then you get in the booth, close the curtain ...
And then this force guides your hand like a Ouja board. You lose control and fill in the "McCain/Palin" oval. But once you are done, your MIND records that you voted for Obama.

9. I'm thinking the reverse Bradley will at LEAST off set Bradley
There are so many people are keeping there vote for Barack "under the hat" to avoid arguments and confrontations.

Not to mention the Palin effect, which I believe will lead many in their final reflections to decide they can't risk the world in the hands of someone that won't do a press conference and has demonstrated a level of knowledge and understanding of world issues that are below the average Jr and Sr high school student's.

Were it not for cheating, I'd expect to overpoll by 2-3 points.

10. "Bradley effect" is stupid. Even if there were discrepancy between polling and results,
differences in TURNOUT would be much more likely than people lying to pollsters.

12. I'm very concerned this will happen to me, too
Early voting doesn't start for a few more days in Florida, but I'm terrified that I'll be Bradley'd. I'm trying to condition myself - I've printed up a whole bunch of sample ballots and I made a little voting booth in my bedroom. It's got a little curtain and everything. I practice every night. I've gotten so that I can fight off the Bradley Effect and vote for Obama almost half the time - by election time, I hope it'll be even better odds!

16. I agree...it is absurd. If someone doesn't want to vote for Obama
because he is black, and a pollster calls, they will say "I'm voting for McCain", not "I'm voting for Obama". WTF? Makes no sense.
