Axelrod Confronts Rick Davis: "Do you sell access to Senator McCain?"
On Fox News Sunday, Obama chief strategist David Axelrod goes on offense against McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis:

Axelrod: "Do you sell access to Senator McCain?"

Davis: "No, I don't."

Axelrod: "Is that how you've made millions of dollars?"

Davis: "Not at all."

Axelrod: "You've never done that? You've never — nobody's ever been told they oughta hire you if they want to get to Senator McCain? I'm asking you a question."

Davis: "Character assassination has become the hallmark of the Obama campaign."

2. Go David
It's your birthday!

Looks like the Obama team is going to be starkly frank from now until voting day. The Lion has grown tired of these insects. It's time for the big-paw smack down.

18. That shit is fucking dumbfounding.
They're running around saying Obama's running a dirty campaign. Everywhere McCain goes, he says so. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Every time one of their people goes on the news it's smear, smear, smear.

Here's a tip for the McCain campaign: Your base may be stupid enough to believe it, or at least pretend to believe it, but you're not fooling anybody outside of your automatic dumbshit 25%. Independents ain't buying it. Undecideds aren't buying it. They're fleeing from your shit, as they should be.

8. Contrast the styles. "Clutch Cargo" Davis came across as a crazy hyperventilating bully.
Axelrod came across as the adult in the room. He spent most of the time trying to refocus the discussion (or at least appear he was trying to do that) back onto "issues people really care about".

The segment clearly showed which side is in a commanding electoral position and which side is frustrated and desperate.

19. Axelrod does better as the man behind the curtain. he has good ideas, but he's a media guy.
not a spokesperson. Probably better to have him feeding those lines to someone else. I love that he forced that issue with Davis.. and I suspect it's true.

13. That was one of the all time worst interviews. Chris Wallace
lost complete control and didn't tell one side to shut up so the other could talk. Rick Davis is a truly obnoxious creature . . . and, on a totally superficial level, looks like a frog. Gribbet!

14. And the fact is Rick Davis DOES sell access, so he changed the subject.
But see, the rules are different for those in the inner circle, that's the Republican Way--

Country Club First.
