WAPO: William F. Buckley's son endorses Obama

A Buckley for Obama

By Howard Kurtz
"It's a good thing my dear old mum and pup are no longer alive. They'd cut off my allowance," Christopher Buckley writes.

What dastardly act would prompt such a response from William F. and Patricia Buckley?

Their son endorsed Barack Obama today.

(For newbies: William F. Buckley was one of the most popular conservative minds in america. He was respected by both sides. As much as people like to refer to Ronald Reagan as the great papa of the conservatives, Buckley really was.)

1. his Dad might not have been so upset.
Remember those articles written by the "leaders" of the true conservatives about a year or 2 ago? Wm. Buckley wrote that it might be best for the party if they were annihilated in 2006 and 2008, and started all over again. I'll go along with that.
