Her husband has invited us to dinner to celebrate her birthday. She has cancer...I wonder if I can cancel to watch the debate? Probably not and look like a decent human being. I wonder if I could claim a migraine at 8:30??? A migraine would work, right?

1. Why not tape the debate
or watch it on C-SPAN later in the evening where it will be broadcast continually.

5. See, that's what I always tell her!
She doesn't seem to agree. Maybe I'm just not saying it enough.

:P

6. Tape the debate or watch one of the reruns of it
A friend with cancer should take priority over the debate or at least it would for me.

7. Watch the debate later.
Family and friends before politics is a good general rule, IMHO.

8. DVR or Tape it.. or watch it 2 hours later on CNN, MSNBC or gasp.. Fox
When you get home. All 3 will replay it that night.

Or just say screw it.. come on here and watch You-Tube clips of the best parts... and check the polls to see how well or bad both of them did.

But, have a nice evening with your friend.. politics will be around forever.. your friend with cancer might not be.
