It's going to backfire.
The whole go for the jugular nasty, ugly, hatefilled attack by McCain and Failin' is going to turn around and fuck them in their respective butts. Snarlin' Johnboy is just not going to sell. Americans really, really don't like nasty candidates. they may go for negative but they want it done by surrogates. they want to see their candidates symbolizing hope and positivity. McCain is foolishly trying to blend hope and positivity with ugly attack dog, and not only does that never work, he's about the last person who can pull it off.

I expect his negatives to rise sharply within the next week. As for the alaskan asshole, she's quickly relegating herself to being nothing more but the idol of the far right.

1. Yes, McCain & Palin already have disapproval ratings higher
than their approval ratings.

15. According to Kos/Research2000
Palin Net Favorable/Unfavorable is at -17. McCain is at -8. Both are all time lows.

20. Yep, and it's only gonna get worse for McCain/Palin-- economy is tanking and they're fighting 1960's
era battles. Dow dropped almost 700 points today, and all McCain/Palin can do is to idiotically raise this crap about Ayers? Are they this ridiculously out of touch? Newsflash, John and Sarah: Nobody cares. When the country is collapsing before our very eyes, it, um, kind of helps to address the crisis.

2. You are right but they have nothing else to go on.. This is all they know
The republicans are so much better at tearing people down than lifting the country up. One trick elephant.

3. People LIKE and TRUST Obama By WIDE Margins
And don't trust McCain OR Palin, so I see no way they can pull it off. You can't do this sort of thing from that position.

4. yep and Barack and Joe know this.....
..... they dont say ANYTHING to the media that is unintentioned, every word is a calculated strategic choice.

As some have posted earlier, this notion that McCain should man-up and call Barack out to his face is a direct attempt to get him to implode on national TV at the next debate.

That little CNN opinion tracking thingy went down every time McCain made a personal attack against Barack in both debates. And Joe and Barack know this ......... cause they are way smarter than me.

9. America is looking for someone to Unite us as Americans,
not divide us and make us weak.....not at a time when we are facing the biggest economic calamity since the great depression!

What McCain is doing doesn't even make sense.

10. Rec'd!!!
Americans are tired of the haters and their leaders. There is just no way to spin hate and bigotry into something good. There's no turning a sow's ear into a silk purse, no matter how much lipstick you have.

11. It already has.
This type of vicious attack has to be based on two things to work. The first is timing, and McCain & Palin did not lay the groundwork early enough. After the Republic Nationalist Convention, they actually thought they were going to maintain their bump. However, McCain has a poor record in campaigns in which he has relatively small leads -- he does best when he is slightly behind.

The second thing is they need the media to provide the type of coverage that nurtures the seeds of hate, allowing them to take root in the public's consciousness. This has not been the case for several reasons, including the fact that McCain poisoned his previously good relationship with many journalists.

There has been divisions in the McCain campaign about the decisions involved in the attack strategy. The truth is that the republican Elders are okaying this, because they want to unify the base, and get their voters to the voting booths on election day. They fear the obvious failure of the presidential ticket could keep their numbers down in key states, which hurts those republicans who are trying to win elections.

The amount of division within their party is far more significant than it may appear on the surface. I am sure that you feel as terrible about this as do I.

23. McBush and Palin are both nasty lyin POS
They can't talk about the terrible issues America faces because they and their damned party created them.

They wont lay out their plans to help americans through these disastrous times because we're livin in the Rethuglicans ownership society. If things are bad for you, american citizen, tough f***in shit. Thats the Thug plan in a nutshell.

Plus they probably know they and their stinkin, putrid party are less than 30 days away from a historic ass whipping.

So they will let their inner racist, hate mongering fascist selfs out to try to finally murder everything decent left in this country.

I loathe the republican party for what it has done. It killed the american dream. I hope and pray that it is utterly destroyed this fall and never will rise again.

25. I agree. If there is anyone who can NOT pull off this kind
of over-the-top hateful campaign, it's McCain. He had his own nastiness and temperment problems going into the campaign, and this just reinforces it.

John McCain = Hateful old man
John McCain = Coward who can't look his opponent in the eye.
