What a stupid thing for McThuselah to say! It strikes me that it wouldn't have been quite so dismissive-sounding if he'd gone on to say, "You know who voted against it? This one..." instead of "You know who voted against it? Me." Then he would have been putting himself on the same level as his opponent. But he's old and cranky and most probably very tired. When you're tired (just as when you drink) your true personality comes out. (That's why I also think drunkenness the very opposite of an excuse for bad behaviour -- "In vino veritas" and all that).

Of course, had he done so, McThuselah wouldn't have given us this great opportunity, the link to which was forwarded to me by my BF (and BFF) terrya:
