Windows 2000 is beloved among many in the tech community; it was stable, quick, versatile, and efficient. Biden is much like Windows 2000: he's not flashy, he's bit old, and he's been around as long as you can remember, but at the same time he's familiar and effective. Even though he isn't exciting any more, you can be confident that he'll get the job done.

Windows Vista is the most recent release by Microsoft. It tries to look new and flashy, but that's all superficial; it's pretty much the same core as it's always been. In fact, the bells and whistles slow it down; Vista is at times erratic, prone to crashes, and is rife with bizarre and unexpected incompatibilities with hardware and software. It was hyped by Microsoft as a game-changer, but it just ended up being a disappointing, even-worse version of what was already out there.
