It was the laughing . The laughing. It will be a deciding factor.
Nothing is funny right now to the American people OR people world wide. We are sitting here watching our pensions and retirement disappear, paying high taxes on what is now overinflated housing, super inflated prices to feed and clothe our families, unaffordable healthcare, home equity disappearing, home values PLUMMETING (be depressed, go to cyberhomes.com, see how your home value has fared the past 18 months or so)homelessness on the rise. My Grandmother, who already went back to work, has two jobs. She says she will now have to try and sell her house. My father is going back to work...again. I am thinking maybe I ought to get a second job, just in case. I am sure I am not alone.

McCain laughed, repeatedly, during this debate. Inappropriate laughter when the panel, the audience, the United States, and the world are in a really somber mood. I saw the panel of people shift uncomfortably when he did this. Over and over. Hah hah, what a jokester.

It will be what people remember. McCain fiddling while Rome burns. Laughing during serious times and serious discussion. Making jokes, talking about Jell-o. It ought to be one of Mr. Obama's commercials. The laughter. I hope someone forwards that to them.

NOTHING is funny right now, nothing. And many will remember his laughter.

1. True.
McCain's attempts at humor fell flat.

2. Any experienced pol should know when to use humor and when not
he used a tactic to try and swing the town hall meeting his way. What he miscaclulated on was the peasants are not amused.

4. It indicated that
McCain was unable to adjust from his prepared remarks to the situation at hand. Few things stand out as more out of place in a serious debate as the sad attempts at humor. His comment on the hair transplant was pathetic.

11. I think it's an unused "zinger" left over from the VP debate.
And it fell VERY flat, rightfully so!

17. Right.
My son looked at me and just shook his head. I'm sure that people sitting in their living rooms across the country had similar responses.

9. McCain couldn't even be bother to stick around after the debate
Cindy following him around like a shadow poodle. She didn't even bother to shake the peasants hands. Then they disappeared. Poof, they were gone. Country First (my ASS) more like Country Club First.

However, Barack and Michelle stuck around shaking hands, talking with the people. I think Barack even answered some questions that didn't make it into the debate. The Obamas are one hell of a team.

12. Michelle and Barack have such manners

How insulting to the guests who watched your performance to not even stay to talk with them.

The McSames are trailer trash, IMO.

13. My husband mentioned that
I was unable to watch the debate, but he told me that at the end, the McCains just up and left, while the Obamas stayed and shook hands with people. I couldn't say I was surprised to hear that.

18. Obama was in the auditorium for at least 45 minutes after the debate
Everyone in the audience had brought small, disposable cameras and they were passing them around to each other so that they could get their picture taken with Obama. It was awesome to watch, almost to the point of being surreal.

McCain ran out of there as fast as Cindy could carry him.

22. I noticed the cameras.
They mostly seemed to be little yellow disposables - I wonder if they were passed out to the audience for the occasion.

If so, nice touch by the debate organizers.

21. Well John shook a few hands but Cindy didn't, it was a very telling picture
how Cindy doesn't like the common people. She thinks they are beneath her. I'm reviewing the end of the debate right now, Cindy shook one person's hand and immediately put her hands behind her back.
Then John taps Barack on his shoulder and Barack reaches out to shake his hand but John points toward Cindy, so Barack shakes Cindy's hand. Michelle was standing behind Barack shaking hands with the crowd. Very strange and awkward moment.

Then the McCains wave at the crowd and then they left the building.

23. He simply doesn't seem
to realize that people are hurting and upset. I mean, he is is fine shape...why isn't everyone else? He's just like us, right?

I still am EXTREMELY upset about his "Bomb, bomb, bomb...." crap. Why doesn't he understand that bombing another country, which would almost certainly KILL civilians, and which will KILL more of our own military people (they are people, Senator, not machines) is NOT something about which to JOKE!

He said it again last night! "I was just joking around with some vets." Joking around about KILLING people!

It isn't FUNNY Senator! It just isn't FUNNY!
