"the vigor gap was palpable"
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 01:30 AM by DeadElephant_ORG
So a town hall might be a good venue for McCain when he's going up against other white politicians in their 60's. But not when he's standing next to a man 25 years younger than himself... next to a man in his prime.

This from Ross Ross Douthat catches my own reaction:

"... and for whatever it's worth, the physical and generational contrast between the two men was very striking in this setting, and especially in the early going McCain seemed to me be showing his age as he delivered his answers. He improved as the night went on, but the vigor gap was palpable."

I felt that the town hall forum just forced McCain to hobble around aimlessly under our scrutiny. I felt uncomfortable. Embarrassed actually.
