self defeating. It seems that everyone thinks once the candidate, whomever it may end up being, is selected. Then people will immediately decide yea or nay as to whether they will support that person. I believe, that this point of selection thru the primary process, will be the start of the candidate's job, not the end. We all seem to be treating it like that will be the grand finale. I believe that the Democratic challenger must from that point forward work to capture and convert potential undecided voters, long term disenfranchised registered and unregistered voters, as well as others that are ambivalent about their choice for president. I think the candidate be it Clark, Dean, Edwards, Kerry, etc. Must then go to the American people with a vision and a plan to get our country on track and headed in a better direction than the current White House's derailment. All this early stage polling and push polling as well as a ever present multitude of pundits that seek to call the race at the half way point, will all be proven meaningless and wrong, as long as the challenger does his job of making a clear and reasonable case to the American voters that he can get our country back on course. The candidate who wins the nomination needs to give Americans a reason to cast their vote for them. It's not theirs by default; You'll deserve it and, I believe that you'll get it, when you show the American public that it's in our interest to sack the current regime. It's the Democrats to win if we are willing to work for it. So we should all stop the self defeating ranting and in-fighting about who can't win and work together to make sure that in the end we do win.
