9. Well, 'right now' is hardly the whole of their output
Right now my car is stopped and parked outside, but that doesn't mean it won't move if I get into it and turn the ignition on, does it? I believe what you and the OP mean is 'the guest/show currently playing on CNN is quite biased'.

14. Technically correct.
But it has been like this most of the day. Non-stop Ayers BS and endless repetition of the same spiteful soundbites from McCain/Palin and nary a mention of the Keating 5.

16. My sense of CNN is that they go back and forth day by day
Like, last week they gave LOTs of play to the Palin & Couric interviews...and it wasn't complimentary, they pretty much roasted her.

Today Ayers is the flavor, tomorrow it could be Keating...actually no, tomorrow and Wednesday will be all debate. There's really only about 5-6 hours of programming per day, repeated a lot.

10. No I'm not. Not everything a network is going to do will be Pro Obama
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 10:31 PM by hnmnf
But the network with Begala, Toobin, Gergen, Brazille, Martin, Carville, Cafferty and King is not in the tank for McCain.

4. Yes.
Their "investigation" into the Ayers BS is nothing more than a right-wing hit piece. Worse than most of the crap on Fox.

5. My Dad Told Me This Morning....
that he thought CNN was becoming the new Fox. He will subject himself to checking Fox every now and then and said this morning Fox was being fairer than CNN was. Disgusting...

8. Funny, the freepers think it's in the tank for Obama
I've decided that people who complain about other people being in tanks are unable to tell the difference.

sure, CNN has dickheads like Lou 'Vaseline' Dobbs and Glenn ' I used to be an alcoholic, but then I discovered TV news' Beck. But on the other hand the freepers think Christiana Amanpour is a bleeding heart terrorist lover and Jack Cafferty is a commie traitor. CNN isn't that great, but I find it vastly more watchable than network news.

17. A lot of them really are that dumb
I post on a mixed board too, and the Republicans on there are mostly thick as a plank, and think CNN exemplifies the liberal media. These people are not very bright.

19. Thank you!!
I've decided that people who complain about other people being in tanks are unable to tell the difference.

If I was queen of DU, one of the FIRST damn things I would get rid of is the 10-time daily "CNN/MSNBC/Corporate Media is sooo in the tank for McCain!!12!" and "I've finally decided I can no longer watch CNN/MSNBC/or some other station" threads. Lord, they work my last g*ddamn nerve!!

I marvel just about every damn day that NO ONE seems to see the irony that both Freepers and Du'ers whine INCESSANTLY about the "bias" in the media. I think half of the time the only bias we see are the ones we personally own. I guess it's never occurred to anyone that its laziness more than bias that is the media's biggest problem.

11. Let them get all the dirty BS out and let them see how it'll fail to stick tomorrow.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 10:31 PM by Arrowhead2k1
Americans don't care about smears and vague links to shady people right now. It's the economy stupid, it has been for a long time. 750,000 people lost their jobs last month alone. Think about it.

18. I agree, CNN is actively promoting the Ayers story...
... even though they are rebutting the controversy at the end of the news piece, the very fact that they are making so much of an issue of it gives the "average" viewer the impression that there just might be "something to it". Palin's remarks were repeated over and over again, several times per hour. This kind of tactic, if done effectively, can influence the so-called swing voters, either by making them sit out the election or voting GOP.

I was channel surfing earlier today, and every time I returned to either CNN channel (I get two), I landed myself right in the middle of the "palling around with terrorists" Palin clip. There's no question that CNN were actively promoting the story under the guise of "news".

Just so nobody misunderstands me here, I'm not saying that CNN should not report on the Ayers story, but what I am saying that there is a difference between reporting the news and actively PROMOTING the news. Once a news story gets promoted enough (just like advertising), then the rest of the MSM starts reporting on itself... just as the Guardian pointed out last month.
