This is a meme that is starting to spread....
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 06:49 PM by Rosco T.
Was talking with some folks earlier today and I said "The ONLY way McCain can win this is to CHEAT. Plain and simple, rigging the local ballot boxes, keeping people from voting. Lie. Cheat. Steal. That's the only way"

I was met with a chorus of "Damn Right", "Not again they won't", "Only way they did before".

Then a semi-friend spoke up, I knew he was a McCain supporter and he said, very calmly "I'm afraid you're right, I'm ashamed of my party. I'm not sure I could vote for Obama yet... yet, but if not, I'm going to vote for Barr".

Get in in peoples head.. it's already lurking in there.

1. I don't think many people are HONESTLY excited about voting for McCain.
I know several repigs, and only maybe TWO of them are obtuse enough to actually really like him. Most are only voting for him out of habit.

3. I've been wondering what this year's stolen states will be.
They won't steal Ohio again - we've got a Democratic governor and SOS. They won't steal Florida again - it generated too much publicity last time. They won't even try it with one of the big blue states like California or New York. So I'm wondering if they're tampering with the larger "borderline" states (Pennsylvania?), or putting all their secretive effort into flipping all the "small" states with just a few electoral votes, which nobody's thinking about - but which could total up to a win for them. Here we've been all excited about the polls in Ohio and Florida, but what's going on behind our backs, where the attention isn't focused? I hope Obama's team is keeping watch on every state.

4. With the ground game and smarts
Obama's campaign has shown to date, I have VERY little fear of this.

7. Which would of course mean that ALL of the polling companies were somehow wrong.
Probably because Rush Limbaugh told republicans to lie to pollsters. :eyes:

5. People aren't excited about voting for McCain.
This time in 2004, there were lots of Bush signs in yards and Bush bumper stickers were even worse--they were freaking everywhere.

This time, I've now seen two or three yard signs and one bumper sticker. That's it. In suburban Dallas.

People aren't passionate about him.

But Obama? Hell's bells, I've talked to people who have said they would crawl on their hands and knees over a mile of broken glass to vote for him. It's their number one priority, period.

And I saw those same people caucus for him on a weeknight for five hours in a packed cafeteria until after midnight. It didn't matter, they'd do ANYTHING to vote for him.

That motivation is what will win the election for Obama. Trust.

That's ok... as long as they don't vote for McCain... I hope a lot of Puggies feel that way:)
