17. This comment is priceless
<<U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Lincoln is speaking. About Palin: "I'd never heard of her . . . now all of America knows about her."

Said Palin is a hit among his five daughters.

"One of my little girls said, 'Is Piper going to be there?'"

He said Palin has a heart in public service starting with the PTA. He said the PTA is the toughest level in politics.>>

Good. Maybe Sarah can organize a bake sale to bail out our economy. :eyes:

These people are delusional.

I don't know who the guy was, but he was saying how proud he was of Palin after her debate performance. That's hilarious...it's like she's a little kid and people have to praise her for doing better than she did the last time on her test.

That's all I could handle.

That's almost as bad "Highway to the Danger Zone."

33. Note the guy I voted for in the primary for Congress is now backing Congressman Lee Terry (R)

6:09 p.m.: People were still being seated as Mark Quandahl opened things off with the national anthem. He introduced Richard Carter, Jim Esch's opponent in the 2nd District Democratic Primary, who began by leading the pledge of allegience. Carter currently is extolling the virtues of U.S. Rep. Lee Terry.

According to the website:
'The Omaha Civic Auditorium seats up to 9300 for sporting events and can accommodate up to 10960 for concerts.'

http://www.omahacivic.com/Arena.htm

Still, what they showed in frame was no more than 200 people and they didn't look very tightly packed.

72. The fact that they are campaigning in Omaha means that they are scared shitless
Yes there's a possibility that Obama could carry that congressional district's one electoral vote. But the fact that they are sending Palin hundreds of miles away from the nearest swing state to campaign for one measly electoral vote shows that they have a very narrow road to 270.

She is making fundraising stops. Getting money from the party faithful, rather than shoring up votes. She was here in the L.A. area yesterday precisely for that reason. Money.

82. They raise it all kinds of ways
Since the brain-dead suburban repukes can't afford $10,000-a-plate fundraisers, they gather them at stadiums and arenas and shake them down for whatever they can give.

She was in Carson, CA yesterday precisely for that reason - to leach money from the dumbfucks in the suburbs who gurgle breathlessly about how 'she is one of us!' :puke: They even admitted they know they won't win California, but the middle-class and upper-middle-class repukes drawn to these events are there to be pressed for donations.

This is basic Politics 101.

78. only 6,000...
Just for comparison, when Obama was here in "Husker RED" Nebraska back in February... I went to the rally he had in the same arena (Civic Auditorium). About 7,000 were there by 4:00pm (2 hours before he spoke) and about 8500 (beyond max capacity) with standing room only when he finally took the stage.

And - this was during the primary, back in Feb.. before he won the nomination.

79. Really? That many? I'd have thought they'd pan the audience better
than they did. It did not look like 6000 from the live feed.

hmmmmmmmm...........
