My Yard Signs Were Stolen Yesterday
They had been out so long I had to replace them twice because they had sun-faded. In 2004 I had to replace my Kerry signs almost every week because of theft. We finally started bringing them in at night, and even then some would go missing. Neither my Casey, Rendell nor any of the signs for our local Dems were ever stolen though. We decided to start bringing our signs in this year too.

My wife went into Lancaster to the Obama HQ and they gave her one. They had 1500 delivered this week and they're aleady gone. I'll go up to the Democratic HQ and buy some more Monday (they close at noon on Sat. for some reason) because they always have them there.

The McCain/Palin signs have started going around here. During the primary there were 3 Obama signs in yards on my street, but one family moved. They were the only signs around, but now there are 3 McCain/Palin signs in yards and only 2 Obama yards & the one Ron Paul diehard about a half mile away.

1. Maybe smear them with vaseline or something to make
it a bit more difficult to handle.

2. Globs of Vasoline around the edges will save your yardsigns in the future.

3. Did you dip the razor blades in dog shit before you glued them to the edges?
It's important.

8. That's poisonous ...
It actually could kill.

Well... maybe that's what you want, but some kid in the neighborhood could get hurt.

If a teenage comes and tries to get the side off and gets badly injured, you'd get sued and would lose everything.

I'd put a fake camera like http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=95154">this one or &brand=Bunker%20Hill%20Security">this one.

Or, if you can afford one, a hidden security camera with night vision.

9. Right. You don't want to kill. Just smear them with snot from someone with a cold...

Maybe it will keep some of 'em home sick on Election Day.

6. Ohhh, how about a nice mixture of Vaseline and food coloring? Vaseline and
some Gorilla Glue and a rotten old egg, with food coloring? Vaseline and old dead shrimp and food coloring blended in your mixer and lovingly applied to the stakes?

7. Print New Ones -- print their free HI-RES vector art Logos to your local Print shop
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 02:38 PM by quantass
Here in Canada it costs 30 cents to print very high-resolution color on Glossy waterproof paper...i send thsoe things to my local Staples (Fedex-Kinkos) via my computer and pick it up 30 mins later.

I would go this route since Obama is always sold out of signs and the greater good is to get the signs out there asap.

11. Use this around the sign edges and post

High-tack, waterproof, graphite-impregnated, and impossible to wash off. Stains everything it touches.

Only comes off skin using an abrasive cleaner or solvent.

Ruins any fabric it touches with a permanent black stain.

Non-toxic, unless you eat it.
