Here are today's tracking polls...

Rasmussen O-51 M-45 (+1)

Hotline O-48 M-41 (-1)

Dkos O-52 (+1) M-40

Gallup O-50 (+1) M-42

Obama's National tracking numbers IMPROVED in 3 out of 4 major polls following Thursday's VP debate. And Rasmussen has had McCain fluctuating between 44 and 45% for the last several days. Therefore McCain's modest improvement (+1) is not likely due directly to the VP debate.

Of course this is a rolling 3 day average. However any "Palin Bump" should have at least kept the numbers unchanged when Friday's polling was added to the total.

Overall National Average... Obama 50.25/McCain 42............. Obama by 8.25%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I believe Obama is +1 in Hotline as well. Yesterday was 48-42.

3. You are right!

Obama is +1 in his lead for the day according to the Hotline poll. I reflected that in the original post by putting a -1 by Mccain. McCain's support went down (albeit very slightly) from the day before. Obama stayed at 48%.

Obama's margin improved in 3 of the 4 most popular National tracking polls.

Good news all the way around!

4. To be honest I expected a slight bounce after the VP debate.
Maybe the American people are waking up to the fact that Palin is not so hot after all. Although a lot of women still support her, the support from men is dropping.
