"What did she do that any B+ grad student couldn't have done?"
Chris Matthews asked that tonight on Hardball. He kept saying she was taught certain phrases, like you push a button and the answer comes out-no depth on her part, like she was at a spelling bee. Chris Cillizza kept answering that she was better than expected and didn't fumble through most answers, but Matthews kept coming back with things like, "We're not talking about getting through an election. We're talking about governing. What did she say to prove she understands and could be president if necessary?" He is CLEARLY not impressed with Sarah Palin which makes me impressed with HIM. :)

7. Absolutely. As a holder of a Masters degree (with honors) I am appalled that
Palin is even described as a "graduate" student!

I worked my butt off to get that Masters. I took my academic standards very seriously. This woman has NO academic, or any other, standards as far as I can see.

The hell with THAT...

27. Undergrad?!
No, not undergrad, much less grad student! More like D+ high schooler!! (I apologize to all high school students for comparing Gov. Palin to you. I don't mean it in a vicious way.)

4. My 18 year old could have done it......
as long as she was going to be given a prize for doing it.

but he's exactly right and I am so glad he's ticked off about this. It is horrifying to think of that twit as second in line.

11. You're probably right.
I doubt many people felt comforted by her performance last night that she could be president if necessary.

6. as a former B+ grad student
i would not be that poised in front of a camera.

her mistake is hubris. she should have blinked when mccain called; for her sake, alaska's sake, bristol's sake, trig's sake, and america's sake.

12. Well, some people don't like public speaking...
maybe you're one of them? I bet you could if you wanted to. But that wouldn't mean you'd be ready to be VP.

you're clearly much more qualified than her. :hi:

(About the assassination part, I hope OBAMA will be ok if/when he's president. I worry about him.)

I disagree a bit: IMO, a C- student with a flair for memorization and snark could have done with Ms. Tundra Trash did.

17. "What did she do that any contestant in a B-grade reality show couldn't have done?"
That is the real question. The NY Times called it correctly-what she did last night was put on a performance similar to a contestant in a reality show.
The grimacing, winking and hackneyed "talking points" were all about getting people to forget that she could make no substantive points relative to policy- it isn't going to work this time...

25. Oh hell in my graduate program, that wouldn't have even been a B
performance.

And I had one professor in particular who would have torn you a new asshole for such a piss-poor performance (no substance whatsoever).

It's the opposite of what my professors were looking for. Non-answers are just that: NON-answers. They don't fucking count.
