Insider Adv. Georgia Poll: McCain 50 (-1), Obama (44) +1
They had him down 18 here a few weeks back. This matches the other poll yesterday of Georgia with him down 8 here.

1. Obama will not win Georgia but he will force McCrypt to spend time and money defending Georgia.
However, if CHambliss goes down in flames, then Obama may actually pull a major upset there.

6. McCain will ignore Georgia
if he loses Georgia on election night he's probably lost a lot of other key states already.

2. Maybe the high AA turnout in early voting will force McCain to spend money there until election day.

Read yesterday here that it's as a high as 40% at the moment.

3. McCain's numbers here keep inching downward.

I don't expect Obama to win Georgia, but I DO think that it will be a lot closer than anyone would have predicted; this election will probably see record-breaking African-American voter turnout, and in a state where 31% of the population is black, that can make a sizeable difference. (And these numbers should also serve as a rebuke to everyone who thinks that we should totally write off states like GA, TN, etc; this is as clear a sign as anything of the 50-state strategy bearing fruit--maybe not decisively so, not in this election, but it lays groundwork for the future in a part of the country that was ignored by the DNC for over a decade).

4. Nice to see, but Focus on VA and NC
I would focus on Virginia and NC. They are more winnable than Georgia and would break the GOP monopoly of the South. But, it is nice to see him doing better in Georgia and almost unbelievable that Jim Martin is polling just 2 points behind Chambliss.

5. If his internals puts him within the margin of error then he should put more resources in the state.

7. Georgia is a longshot
but at this point not completely out of the realm of possibility.

McCain support is still less than enthusiastic and as he sinks lower and lower in the national polls people will start to question the point of turning out to the polls for him. If your guy doesn't have a chance to win the election (And it is becoming apparent to the republicans I know) why would you bother to vote for him? Especially when you weren't thrilled with the guy to begin with.

10. Obama needs to go to GA and AZ
his momentum is building in those states. He needs a landslide to avoid having it stolen again.

11. Georgia co-worker told me he was voting for Barr, and the Senate race has tightened as well.
Chambliss is only up 4 points against Democrat(Jim Martin) opponent. No link, but poll was released on Tuesday.
