Predict the zingers Palin is being plied with for Thursday's debate!
I think her handlers are going to ditch the cramming and try going with her "strengths," which means her media savvy and telegenic sportscaster image. They need her to regain her popstar status, so they are surely pulling out all the stops to achieve that. They probably want to out-Tina Tina Fey and slip in at least a handful of one-liners and sound bites, hoping they'll be all the media can talk about after the debate.

I predict there's going to be some line about "lipstick" and "pigs" fed to her by someone like Drew Carey (speaking of pigs). If we can figure out what it is before they use it, it's as good as defused. Anyone want to take a stab at guessing what it is? Or what other lines they might be feeding her?

4. She'll just recite her stump speech AGAIN
The media will be all over how it was a "bold decision" and that "voters won't care about the issues, they love her personality".

9. I expect to see big chunks of her convention/stump speech
rehashed yet again in her debate answers.

They even did that with McCain!

The other side does not have a lot of material to draw on!

14. McSpain did the same thing in his debate. Part of the reason why he never looked up was because
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 11:05 AM by izzybeans
he was reading his notes.

There were 4 or 5 times where his answer had nothing to do with question. He was reading prepared statements, nothing else.

Palin will be even more tied to the talking points.

5. "I know you are but what am I?"
I think she should do a Pee Wee Herman impersonation as she repeats it.

19. Age before beauty!!! LOL
She'll want Joe to go first so she can restate his answers, so she'll invoke the "age before beauty" remark!!! LOL

I can't wait for Thursday night!

13. For clues, just watch that noxious Nicolle Wallace
She's a spox for McCain and used to be the Communications Director for Bush/Cheney 2004:

She specializes in snark and bromide. In fact, it's all she does. A few days after the Palin announcement, while on Morning Joe, Time Magazine reporter Jay Carney asked her when Palin would give an interview and Wallace laughed in his face. "Give an interview to who? You?!!??"

Watch the video here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/05/no-questions-palin-wont-t_n_124256.html

Wallace has been dispatched to Palin's side and is her main debate prep aide. So I think that means the tactic they're taking here is just Make Sarah Mean and Republicans Will Respond.

I'm not sure what the "zingers" will be, but I predict they'll make us groan, or make us think she's just nasty and awful, and in turn I think she'll turn the people off. Much in the way McCain's demeanor did in the debate Friday.

15. That's what letting Palin be Palin means.
She's not an intellectual. She's not a wonk. She's not even a manager. She's just ambitious and mean.

16. Exactly!
She's ambitious, mean, and out of her depth. I think what we're discovering is that she's not a gifted politician, she's not "likeable" and "adorable." She's a mean, nasty power-lusting BULLSHITTER who has been utterly exposed in the national scene.

That bullshitting talent of hers might have gotten her a long way in Alaska, but in the Big League we can see right through it. What's frightening about her is her hubris; she doesn't think we see it!

17. I think she got the same "message from God" that the current Resident got.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if she believed she were chosen by God to fulfill His destiny. :puke:

It doesn't occur to these idiots that their destiny is to be laughingstocks.
