What debate was Tweety watching????

1. He would not even look Obama in the eye - "Jesus Christ!!!" Like Obama didn't even deserve to be there.

2. McSame admitted we tortured!!

3. McSame said that Pakistan was a failed state! HUH???

4. Obama brought up the Bomb Iran song.

5. McSame fumbled and bumbled, was actually shaking at the beginning, and did some very odd things with his eyes at times. I think he might have shit himself at one point (squinting heavly for 20 seconds or so).

6. "I'm a maverick!" Just like, he's a hero! You aren't a hero if you have to tell everyone you're a hero.

7. McSame came off as an angry old fart that has no intention of diplomacy with anyone or any country. A very unstable mind with a very unstable running mate with many of the same views.

We can't let the msm manipulate it to appear close in the polls, or they will steal it. tell the msm if they do this again there will be (more) blood on their hands. If the msm would have brought out the buldge in B*s back and all the other shady Rovian shit they knew about we wouldn't be where we are today !!!!! can't let them do it again.

1. Honestly I think they know who won
I think they are saying these things to push ratings for the next two debates.

3. Its because McCain kept the debate on the economy in his wheelhouse

which is fighting wasteful spending.

But that isn't the problem now, and cutting spending, while it may improve the deficit, won't fix the problems Americans are facing.

Also, McCain turned the foreign policy debate to his strengths, like the surge, and Russia, while Obama stayed with McCain's lead and defended his views on what McCain wanted to talk about.

So McCain was able to keep the debate out of areas he is a complete loser in, and that is what the pundits focused on.

I liked Obama's rebuttals, but he would have done even better had he drove McCain to defend areas in which is he weak.

They need to work on that.

4. Tweety is always willing to give McCain the benefit of the doubt
he said as much on Ms Maddow's show.

5. McCain beat expectations: he didn't keel over from a stroke, nor did he throw a tantrum. n/t

9. But he never looked Obama in the eye and that is seen as
a sign of weakness.

And it's one of the three reasons below or a combination of the three.

1. He is afraid of Obama
2. He disrepects Obama
3. He avoided looking Obama in the eye to keep his anger in check

All three are bad for McCain.

6. Much as everyone wants to paint Tweety as a liberal, he voted for Bush twice and he said during his
show, "I'm a lot more conservative than people think I am."

Forget that he worked for Tip O'Neill. Forget that he FINALLY got mad at Bush about Iraq. Forget that he said that Obama sent a tingle up his (Tweety's) leg. Tweety is a conservative.

7. It was cover
They new poor reviews would come down. Saying McCain did as well or better than Obama shielded them from charges of bias. You noticed that as the evening went on, they willingly and easily dissected McCain's problems.

8. I had a similar "initial" reaction
I thought McCain was going to flip and and have a fit and he didn't. I noticed all the ques (no eye contact etc.), but the words they both said were as expected so I was initially surprised that McCain didn't do worse. It didn't take long to start to process all the weird body language and the "tick" he had when trying to look at Obama which made me realize that Obama really looked more Presidential and that McCain had serious temperment issues. It is funny how it took a few minutes to process it all, so I can kind of relate to what Tweety went though.

Remember, Tweety was calling McCain a TROLL within an hour of the debate, so he had an epiphany at some point. Very interesting experience last night.

10. All these policy wanks "score the points."
As if this were a college debating society - they never seem to figure out its not about the points - its about the optics, tone, and temperament.

Obama won this one in a walk - McCain looked angry, old, and impatient. The cut-away shots of him when Obama was speaking were brutal - he looked very un-presidential.
