CNN's Debate Report Card.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/26/debate.reportcard/index.html

For Obama:

Paul Begala: B - C'mon, Paul, I know you still are bitter over the primaries, but a B?
Leslie Sanchez: B - Holy shit, really? Wow, I didn't expect a B from her (remember she gave Obama's DNC speech a C-)
David Gergen: A - Not a surprise, he's always been fairly positive toward Obama.
Roland Martin: B - I'm guessing he's trying to be as objective as possible.
Amy Holmes: C - Not a surprise here.

Average from CNN readers: B

For McCain:

Begala: C - That's more like it, Paulie.
Sanchez: B - Not a surprise
Gergen: A - WHAT?
Martin: B - Huh?
Holmes: A - haha

Average from CNN readers: D

So McCain received a better average, but only because Holmes obviously was far too partisan. Still, not a good night for McCain.

5. Damn that Holmes. She brings shame to all Natural haired Black Independent women.
I'm one of them. Gosh darnit that twitcher. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, she's like the young Black version of Andrea Mitchell on CNN.

Ahh, Sanchez...the hispanic Andrea Mitchell on CNN. Piss me off that one. She's punky and has no purpose and I have to say I'm urprised by her number.

As for Begala---He has a point and I see where he was comniing from. He wanted Obama more aggressive and I wanted the same thing. Like when McCain mentioned torture---Obama should have said, you voted with it. Obama should have called him on the 3" taller comment about Koreans. Obama should have called him on a lot of things. Begala supported Clinton (Bill C.) and has always said he felt Obama should be a bit more aggressive. So this is not anything to do with the primaries. Let's move away from that. I sincerely feel Begala has no resentment about primaries and I can say I get the feeling he may be advising Obama a bit on the side.

However, on the other end of the spectrum and brought to my attention on this board...If Obama had been any more aggressive he would have appeared to be like he's beating up on an old man and would have appeared as contemptuous as McCain. So Obama managed to side step that, but I felt he still had open chances that he could have finagled. On another point, I felt this was also strategy. Remember we have 2 more debates left. We have this one won and this was the first the next two already determined what makes McCain tick and Obama has the advantage. I can definitely tell you McCain would be considered on the defensive if you're looking at the opponent as a comparative example of future debates.
