After midnight, Joe was on MSNBC After Hours following Cheney speech. I could have missed all his cues, but one thing he said was something like, "We must remember that independents only break for the challenger in governor elections. In prez elections, they break for the commander in chief that they know, not the guy in the wings."

What does Joe add? Might as well have a local shoe salesman come in and comment about the convention.

1. I agree. He's best left to fundraising these days. And, I'm a Dean
primary supporter. :(

2. Trippin on Trippi
Mike, Couldn't agree with you more. I no longer wonder why Dean lost the primary. Maybe he's hooking up with the same crowd as Zell.

3. I believe he is involved in Granny D's senate race now

So many of the problems we face, from an unnecessary war to a mismanaged federal budget (which impacts health care, schools, Social Security and the nation's real security needs) directly derive from the influence of special interest groups in Washington.

I have walked long and worked hard to help clean up the system from the outside. Now please help send me into the lion's den to work for fundamental reform and the interests of the people of New Hampshire and of America, and not the insurance companies and not the oil companies and not the defense contractors and lobbyists. And in getting to that victory in this campaign, let's see what kind of a campaign we can create without special interest PAC donations, but instead with truth, energy and fun.

If you have had it with politics-as-usual, there is no stronger statement you can make than to vote for a 94 year-old woman. I am not just a "none of the above" vote (although I am indeed that!), I will actually work to create a wave of change when I am elected. But, win or lose, your vote will be a shot across the bow of the old system that no longer represents us.

4. Trippi made a fortune on Dean's campaign
and he's still around for the same reason: to make money.

5. many people in the Dean campaign
blame Trippi. There was a lot of money unaccounted for. His point about undecideds breaking for the incumbent just isn't true. It didn't happen in 80,92,96.

6. I dunno
I watched him during the DNC "After Hours" stuff and he didn't really say much. This week I was hoping he might help refute some of the lies coming from the Garden and the rest of the "panel," but I haven't seen that happen yet.
