18. They aren't pretty. I think he looks ill in general. The riggers of this campaign aren't helping.
With the struggles this country has to deal with, I can't imagine him being up to the challenge physically or mentally even if I did agree with his policies.

7. If John McCain is not willing to have a mature and respectful discussion about his health problems..
Then YES WE CAN go there and YES WE WILL go there!

14. Horrible ad - Hate it
I know everyone has the right to know the state of his health, but ads like this aren't the way to do it. Apart from anything, the gloomy diagnosis for people suffering from that form of cancer is cruel and insensitive, to say the least. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

15. You have a point about possible insensitivity of this diagnosis. But, 1 in 5 POTUS's died in office.
His history & age only increase those odds. So, he chooses Palin and refuses to let people get to know her. While I can see how it may turn some off, I agree with LiberadorHugo that if he is not willing to disclose and discuss this openly, we have the right to ask.

16. What is the correct diagnosis, doctor?
I would be interested to hear your "non-gloomy" diagnosis for melanoma that has spread, which was the scenario discussed in the ad.

20. I am not sure what that means
but if I asked my doctor to give me a prognosis for my 5th bout with melanoma that had spread and she said "Come on... we're better than that." I would be concerned. You are the one that said the diagnosis was too "gloomy" and wrong wrong wrong. I just asked why. If you are only saying it is wrong politically, then I misunderstood.

22. Aired here in NY this a.m.
It's not a pretty conversation but isn't that the reason candidates are expected to provide their medicals?

When the president catches a cold it's breaking news. Every president has to provide the jogging-with-the-dog-epitomy-of-health photo ops, twice a year. This is usually boring, eye-rolling news...because the person is healthy.

We must know our president is mentally and physically able to lead the country.

Is america ready to vote for a black man?
Is america ready to vote for an old cancerous man with Edith Bunker waiting in the wings?"

Valid, ugly american truth.

24. I think that this is a hard ad to watch, but VERY necessary.
McCain's health is extremely important, in light of his Palin pick. And his only allowing a cursory perusal of his medical records makes it even more appropriate. I just don't get the "are we better than this" take.

26. Yesterday, on another thread I was a bit unsure about an ad
like this but when I talk with my friends in Michigan and hear about the ads that show Obama with pictures of every black crook in politics, I say yeah...go there! They are slimy people and they are attempting to run this entire campaign. He pulls this crazy vp pick out of nowhere and she's a total idiot and he's ducking and hiding from issues regarding his campaign staff etc. Something is wrong with this man and he's dangerous for the white house...plus...I really do believe he is sick but he's so greedy he's running for the white house anyway. They dont' care if Sarah takes over if he dies because they can continue to run this country into the ground. She would just be a front person if he dies. So yeah, go there!
