Bill Clinton... ARE YOU SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY? I mean, REALLY?!
Nothing wrong with supporting your wife but Bill, you act like Obama is a criminal who conned America for the last 8 years. While you're endorsing Obama, you're explaining your affection for McCain, a known criminal. Part of the Keating 5. Supported letting big business run amok. Voted against the MLK birthday. Lies at the drop of a hat. Campaign run by the same clan that helped Bush steal both of his elections. Well Bill I know you lie too but McCain's lies have gotten Americans in deep trouble, killed even. You are heeping a lot of praise on a crook who voted with Bush over 90 percent of the time, someone who was against torture and now says torture is not so bad. It means he supports war crimes, Bill.

So you have this global initiative project where you do good for the world but then you turn around and appreciate a guy who is a conman and a criminal, who is part of the con party contingency in power now while you half-heartedly support the candidate who played fair in the primaries, who played by the rules but because he won the contest over your wife you barely mention the candidate of your own party's name? You are still holding onto a statistic that isn't even true. Hillary did not win the popular vote, Bill.

Further, you're showing your appreciation for a man who championed a war of choice in which innocent people died. Bill, you're sleeping with the enemy. You are supporting John McCain, the war criminal, the de-regulator, the man who knew that we went into Iraq for oil. Bill, how do you feel about this? Obama is against the war, doesn't have a criminal record and you choose to align himself with both candidates as if Obama is no different than McCain?! WTF! Obama is the Dem nominee and it seems to be okay with you if the crook, McCain helps crooks of his party run the country for another 4 years. Are you kidding me? We were robbed by the Republicans currently in power and that includes McCain and you're praising this conman? Wow! Unbelievable.

Do us all a huge favor and follow Hillary Clinton's lead. Stop whining about what could have been and support the candidate of your own party. Hillary Clinton has the good sense to understand what's at stake. She does not want more of the same. John McCain is the guy who talked about your daughter, let others disparage your wife. Remember? Bill... do you remember that? Next time you decide to open your mouth, act like you have the same good sense that Hillary R. Clinton has and stop blathering praise where there should be none. Be the leader that helps unite this party. You did a bang up job at the convention but you need to extend it. You need to work hard to get Obama elected and you need to do it up until election day. Perception is everything. You know this. Look at this country and the crisis we face. Do we want more of what wasn't good for us? No. Consider this. When you heep too much praise on the neo-con-party, you look like you're sleeping with the enemy and don't mind bragging about it.

1. What makes you think Bill is upset about McCain's support of Iraq war? Who do you think
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 11:28 AM by blm
helped Bush sell that war to Tony Blair and DC Dem lawmakers who expected the last Dem president to have access to privileged and classified information they would never see?

Who used his summer2004 book tour interviews to support Bush and defend his decisions on terrorism and Iraq war that Kerry, our nominee, was criticizing those decisions at the time?

Who was on television in summer of 2005 claiming he never heard of the Downing Street Memos?

2. You're right... I digress. He helped Clinton make that decision as I can recall
... to support the invasion. I guess that makes Clinton a conman too because he said he didn't agree with the invasion even knowing we all knew of his support of it.

14. Tony Blair was on Jon Stewart's show the other night, still asserting
that Hussein was a threat. He said nothing of the Downing Street Memos. Said nothing of Osama bin Laden. He just lied his ass off.

Tony Blair, Bill Clinton represented the so-called "Third Way" in which a strong military presence and corporate-centered policies are the order of the day. Here, we know the outfit as the Democratic Leadership Council. Because of DLC policies and its dominance in the Democratic party, George Bush and his corporate cronies have gotten away with massive fraud, greed and inconceivable crimes.

I point the finger squarely at the DLC of which Bill Clinton is its father.

3. If Pres. Clinton agressively attacked McCain and praised Obama that could have a DRAMATIC IMPACT.
But that would be in line with Bill's fair and ballanced approach.

5. Well... it was a full throated endorsement at the convention so why
not use the opportunity on "The View" to score political points with women who will benefit from an Obama presidencey? He barely mentioned Obama. Instead he explained how you don't belittle people for their vote and gender and racial politics. How about using some of that energy to explain how Obama can help women get ahead but that with McCain, not so much?

6. Far as can tell, the Clintons are acting more like nominees than surrogates
Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 12:06 PM by Blasphemer
That is the crux of the problem. Sure, Obama can't attack aggressively himself - he's the nominee but surrogates (i.e., party members who support his bid) should absolutely be doing so. If the Clintons are to be aiding the campaign by acting as surrogates and campaigning for Obama, their job is to go after McCain, Palin and the entire GOP propaganda machine that went after the two of them for 8 years. Instead, they're playing diplomat as if Hillary was the nominee. And in doing so, defend the "honor" of a man who viciously insulted their child. I find their attitude indefensible. I'm sure Obama is well aware that he has to watch his back for the next four years.

7. Short answer: Yes.
He's been sleeping with the enemy since he was president, but if you weren't on welfare or immediately affected by NAFTA, it was easy to miss Slick Willie's sleight of hand.

16. Bill Clinton is saying what Obama is doing...
Not running a smear campaign, or attacking them personally, and giving them props where deemed appropriate

http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/2008/08/obama-praises-mccain-again-eno.php">Obama praises McCain

"This week, this week, we found out that the presumptive nominee of the Republican party will be Senator John McCain Now, I believe John McCain is a good man and a genuine American hero. And we honor his half-century of service to this nation." - Barak Obama

Obama has also praised Palin:

"Her selection is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics," their statement said. "While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward, Gov. Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign."

Obama has been ignoring Palin politically, barely mentioning her, with which Clinton agrees.

Everything Clinton said, Obama is doing. I dont see what the problem is except that people flipping out without thinking first. The term is, 'knee jerk reaction.'

The reference you made was on August 20th. It's September 23 now.

In case you haven't notices, things have changed. You really had to dig back far for that one.

Second, a "knee jerk reaction" would have been written yesterday; when Bill went on The View.

Perhaps you should take your own advice and not post "knee jerk reations" to other people's posts.

22. Oh please................
Bill is not obligated to do a blessed thing after the trashing some in the party did to him during the primary and Hillary has gone beyond what other candidates did to help the nominee in prior elections (remember Teddy in 1980?).
