At some point, it's no longer about "bad luck" for George W. Bush...

1. Caught sleeping at the wheel with respect to 9/11. Ignored the August 6 memo, and spent the morning of 9/11 reading a children's book while NYC burned.

Republicans said it was "bad luck" that it happened on Dubya's watch...and that Bill Clinton was at fault.

2. Caught "embellishing" about WMDs in Iraq... the argument that brought the nation into a war we had no business starting.

Republicans said, hey... Clinton thought they had them too. It's "bad luck" that we didn't find any.

3. Caught off guard when a major American city drowned before our eyes.

Republicans said it was "bad luck" that a once-in-a-century hurricane hit a city dead on and that nobody could have predicted it (even though it was predicted by dozens of studies before hand).

4. Caught off guard when deregulation of the banking industry in 1999 led to a banking collapse in 2008.

Republicans saying.... it is "bad luck" that this happened now. It's Clinton's fault.

At what point does it stop being a coincidence that all of these once-in-a-century disasters happened during one presidency?

Rachel Maddow has it right. Hundreds of years from now, some future President will do something really stupid and unpopular. But there will be some pundit in that future America that will say, "Yeah... but at least the President isn't as bad a George W. Bush!"

Worst. President. Ever.

And it is not even close.

1. I'm crossing my fingers that there's no #5
But I have a sinking feeling that something wicked this way comes from ChimpCo before we're through. Hey, it's just a feeling but I guess the last 7+ years have heightened my paranoia.

3. He's done the same thing to the country that he's done to every one of his business concerns
Run us right into the ground. When he was running in 2000, that was one of my biggest concerns, that he was a FAILED businessman. Now he's added another feather to his cap: FAILED president.
