SurveyUSA: Obama Opens Lead in Virginia
A new SurveyUSA poll in Virginia shows Sen. Barack Obama has moved to a six point lead over Sen. John McCain, 51% to 45%. Compared to a similar poll two weeks ago, Obama is up 4, McCain is down 4.

Key findings: "In the Washington DC suburbs, Obama now polls at 59% and leads McCain by 21 points. Obama leads by 10 in Southeast VA and by 4 in Central VA. McCain's regional advantage is confined to the Shenandoah, where he is 14 points atop Obama."

"Among women, Obama led by 6 points before Sarah Palin was named to the GOP ticket, now leads by 16."

Earlier: ARG shows McCain leading by two points.

2. I should have bookmarked my statements from months ago
Since I moved to NOVA I can tell you first hand, there is no way McCain is taking this state. Northern Virginia has become very cosmopolitan and the state, as a whole, has a large African American population. This puppy is going blue and staying blue.

You can have someone else sample your cooking. You're dead to me. Not that you ever existed since you live below the Fredricksburg existence border.

Needless to say, the DU Worry Brigade won't comment on this poll.

21. Thrilled about VA, worried about PA.
We need as many states as possible, since Ohio isn't looking too good at this point.

18. There was a poll last week that showed McCain leading by 9 and ruined the average for Obama
But that was clearly an outlier, every other poll has it either close or trending in Obama's favor.
