Another Palin Lie - In "trip of a lifetime" visit to IRAQ, she never ventured beyond KUWAIT border

Palin camp clarifies extent of Iraq trip
Says she never ventured beyond Kuwait border
By Bryan Bender

WASHINGTON - Sarah Palin's visit to Iraq in 2007 consisted of a brief stop at a border crossing between Iraq and Kuwait, the vice presidential candidate's campaign said yesterday, in the second official revision of her only trip outside North America.

Following her selection last month as John McCain's running mate, aides said Palin had traveled to Ireland, Germany, Kuwait, and Iraq to meet with members of the Alaska National Guard. During that trip she was said to have visited a "military outpost" inside Iraq. The campaign has since repeated that Palin's foreign travel included an excursion into the Iraq battle zone.

But in response to queries about the details of her trip, campaign aides and National Guard officials in Alaska said by telephone yesterday that she did not venture beyond the Kuwait-Iraq border when she visited Khabari Alawazem Crossing, also known as "K-Crossing," on July 25, 2007.

Asked to clarify where she traveled in Iraq, Palin's spokeswoman, Maria Comella, confirmed that "She visited a military outpost on the other side of the Kuwait-Iraq border."

It was the second such clarification in as many weeks of the itinerary of what Palin has called "the trip of a lifetime." Earlier, the campaign acknowledged that Palin made only a refueling stop in Ireland.

5. She didn't lie, she was in Iraq! And all of Iraq is a battle zone!
That's how they'll defend it.

6. Her lack of cultural curiosity is depressing.
She didn't even start to visit the rest of the USA until she was Governor yet I'm supposed to trust her in foreign relation situations? Her lack of shame with her lies and obvious lack of experience make sad about our country's future. How have we fallen so far?

9. If McCain can send out mailers proclaiming his DEEP religiousness..
.. and pro-life stance, then I guess she is free to lie thru her teeth about everything, too. Karl Rove and the PNAC are spinning this horrific Ticket as fast as they can. Thank god the media, many of them, can see what a disaster these two are.

10. Let's not forget all the SHIT Hillary was put through
regarding the SNIPER story..

The MEdia needs to hold Pork Barrel Palin to the same Standards at minimum..

Look at HOW they LIE..

"She visited a military outpost on the other side of the Kuwait-Iraq border."

The OTHER SIDE of the IRAQ Border is KUWAIT, is it not? :)

That's like the old trick, "A plane crashes on the border of Canada and the US.. on which side are the survivors Buried?"

Tricky LYING Monkeys..

She's never been ANYWHERE, but sure got a lot of money for just staying HOME, as a per diem :)

13. Thanks for reminding me about that.
This IS the same media that made such a big deal out of Hillary's trip.

Isn't it?

11. People who have actually been to Iraq
Include Democratic candidate Al Franken, who has been multiple times in his private life as a wise acre and famous guy. Joan Jett has been over a few times. Kathy Griffin, Robin Williams,.
These are all a bunch of Hollywood types, horrid Democrats and musicians and the like, been there, slept there and in many cases gone back to do it again. Franken flies on military transport like our gals and guys do, which is not a pretty way to fly. He could do first class to Dubai...but he does not.
Oh and of course Sentator Obama has been there, and to a few other places as well.

12. If the average person padded their resume like this, they would
be fired immediately. Just add it to the other B.S. coming out of the Republican camp.

15. In case any here were wondering...
Here is the excerpt where her "travels" were discussed in the Gibson interview.

She doesn't claim to have gone to Iraq in this instance (I don't know about rest of interview). But her camp and the McCain borg have said it repeatedly, evidently.

GIBSON: Did you ever travel outside the country prior to your trip to Kuwait and Germany last year?

PALIN: Canada, Mexico, and then, yes, that trip, that was the trip of a lifetime to visit our troops in Kuwait and stop and visit our injured soldiers in Germany. That was the trip of a lifetime and it changed my life.
