About Joe Lockhart:
This witty and wise former Presidential Press Secretary faced the world’s news media daily explaining all of the President’s actions and statements in one of the most visible positions in Washington.

An award-winning journalist and political strategist, Mr. Lockhart’s experiences made him an exceptional choice for key positions. In addition to serving in the cockpit of the free world, Joseph Lockhart was former assistant to the President and Press Secretary at the White House. Before joining the White House in 1997, he was National Press Secretary for the Clinton/Gore ‘96 Re-election campaign and he held several key positions at ABC Network News, CNN and SKY Television News of London. Mr. Lockhart was previously a Senior Vice President of Robinson Lerer Sawyer Miller, where he brought an international media and U.S. political background to the management of sensitive communications issues.

Mr. Lockhart’s political experience spans several U.S. Presidential campaigns. He was the Deputy Press Secretary for the Dukakis/Bentsen 1988 Presidential campaign, traveling with the nominee. In 1984, he was Assistant Press Secretary for the Mondale/Ferraro campaign, acting as primary liaison to the broadcast media, supervising advance staff, scheduling press-related operations, and providing logistical support for the traveling press. During the 1980 Carter/Mondale campaign he was a Regional Press Coordinator, managing communications for senior White House and campaign stall in 11 Northeastern states.

His award-winning journalism activities include key positions at SKY Television News of London, Cable News Network (CNN), and ABC Network News. At SKY Television News, Mr. Lockhart served as foreign producer for Europe’s first 24- hour television direct broadcast news service and contributing reporter/producer to the International Business Report, SKY’s daily business and economic program. As Deputy Assignment Manager for CNN, he developed and tracked Washington-oriented news stories involving the White House, Congress, and Federal agencies, and produced political campaign coverage. Mr. Lockhart has also been an Assignment Editor for ABC Network News, and covered the Pennsylvania delegation at the 1980 Democratic Convention for NBC Network News.

tough words for him to speak

kerry needs to come out swinging NOW

I am not usually a "go negative" gal, but these smearboat liers need to be trounced and quickly (if it's not already too late)

Totally agree. Like Scarborough (whom I don't ordinarilly agree with) said today on the Ed Schultz show.

Kerry needs to understand this is a "BLOOD SPORT" I totally agree!
