This will age you but who remembers the Twilight Zone pig nose episode?
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 12:28 AM by DianeG5385
It's about someone who has reconstructive surgery to their face to repair damage from an accident. When they take the bandages off, the person looks perfect, but the surgeons whose faces we never see during the episode are horrified. Turns out they all have these pig noses which in their culture is considered beautiful. I have to say this seriously scared me and had us kids making "pig noses" to scare the younger kids for weeks!

This whole McCain campaign outrage reminds me of the pig nose people. They are the pigs and they are trying to trash Obama as the foreign one.

1. It was The Twilight Zone
"Eye of the Beholder" was the title.

15. You're traveling through another dimension --
a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone!

22. Some of us aren't that old
But we still found our way to The Zone through the time bending properties of re-runs. Thank you SciFi channel for many a TZ marathon. I'm rewatching all the old Outer Limits on netflix now too.

14. You unlock this door with the key of imagination.
Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone.

9. I didn't at first, but after seeing the pics I do remember that!
Can't say that I was afraid of anything though. I knew it was a movie, same as all fiction. I LOVED "The Twilight Zone" episodes! I wish some of that programming would return!

10. It originally aired before I was born, but I've seen it in reruns before.
Gosh, maybe I shouldn't be feeling quite so old after all. :)

13. There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man....
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone".

18. Donna Douglas of the Beverly Hillbillies.
Knew that one without googling.

The Eye of the Beholder is my oldest memory of television.

Excellent messages.

20. I really did like the doctor in that episode, just because by the end it was clear he didn't accept
the government's propaganda and truly wished the woman could live her own life.
