Streisand to Sing for Obama
Barbra Streisand will be among the headliners at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama on Sept. 16, where she will perform for the presidential candidate at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

1. This is the first time in my life I've ever wanted to be wealthy enough to attend
one of those things. It's not Streisand. It's Gobama and Streisand and hundreds of people who think like I do. *sigh*

14. I don't think it makes a difference at all.
Limbaugh and those right wing extremist assholes who are already for McCain/Palin despise her anyway.Streisand appeals to Obama's base. I rather doubt people who are still undecided are going to read this and say "Oh, shit. Barbra Stresiand. That's it, I'm for John McCain".

Celebrities have been a part of the political process in some way or another for years. No one decides their vote SOLELY on who, for instance, Ben Affleck supports. That's pretty shallow, I think.

4. I was hoping this happen! When Barbra supported Hillary
in the primary I was hoping when Obama won that ..that Ms Streisand would come around for Obama and I figured she would, no problema.

She, along with the rest of us, has wanted these people OUT for so long.

12. Good
I realize that Ms. Streisand can be a polarizing figure. However, she also has terrible stage fright and doesn't perform in front of audiences often. I hope there will be a recording of the event.

13. Wow; I like what she said here:
On her Website, Streisand chimed in last week on John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin, writing, “We are not that stupid.”

She wrote, “I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary --- an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant --- would vote for him because his Vice President has two x chromosomes. McCain’s selection of Governor Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election.”
