Mccain quote as presented on C-Span 2 Book TV---frightening!
From Mccain's Worth the Fighting For, this excerpt was just presented by the C-Span moderator. My DVR is on pause - it is as presented:

"As a politician I am instinctive, often impulsive, and quick at recognizing and seizing opportunities. I don't torture myself over decisions. I make them as quickly as I can, quicker than the other fellow, if I can. Often my haste is a mistake, but I live with the consequences without complaint."

The guest, Jonathan Karp, editor of all of McCain's books, blew the quote off as showing how candid - how "straight talk" - Mccain is. Candid or not, I find it scary.

The RW gets on Obama for thinking before speaking. I for one would prefer to have a thinking person in power than one who is reactionary and who prides himself with being the first to decide. The Decider. We can't afford having another Decider in charge.

Obama/Biden 08.

2. So, am I wrong in saying that McGoo's quick reaction is good and, if wrong,,
the fact he knows how to live with the consequences without complaint is a plus for us?

My first reaction is, what do we do if Mr. McGoo gets po'd, unlocks THE BOX and pushes THE button? Will any of us be here to see how he lives with the consequences without complaint? Hmmmm? If he pushes THE Button, don't others in the world push their buttons shortly thereafter?

Will there be a hereafter?

Time for Mr. McGoo to retire. Past time!

3. Bush and McCain want to rule
over America, they interpret presidency as being all about them, which is not only ideologically un-American, but immature. Leadership works by listening and serving and strengthening cooperation between people, which is my interpretation of the Democratic platform., which Obama embodies.

5. Someone needs to ask him about this quote.
I'd love to hear him explain how that would make him a good President. After 8 years of Chimp In Charge I'm ready for a smart, thoughtful President who knows how to think things through.
